“What makes a hotel rank among one of the most exciting openings in the world? This year, it came down to the hotels that provide experiences that are sure to inspire wanderlust, offering travelers more reasons to make plans to get up and go.”

With that criteria in mind, the editors and contributors narrowed down a list of choices as they looked at more than hundreds of openings before deciding on a shortlist. They then dispatched their editors and saw which properties stood up to the test and after carefully considering feedback, they narrowed down the list down even further, settling on the best 100 stunning new hotels.

Sustainability

Don’t let the beautiful suites fool you, this is a hotel with sustainability at its core. From morning to night, everything revolves around the sun, whether it’s streaming through the dormer windows of each room or powering the lights each night with electricity generated by Cofoco’s very own solar field.

Café Coco primarily serves organic products, and you will find no plastic bottles in the minibar. All towels and bed linens are made from organic cotton. The entire building has been renovated with energy and water saving solutions and, like Cofoco’s restaurants, the hotel is covered by sustainable energy from Cofoco’s own solar park in Nees, North West Juland.
