Now is the time to make your next Hawaii vacation a mindful one.
If you are inspired by mindful travel, Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa has partnered with the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau (HVCB) and volunteer organizations across the state, encouraging visitors to leave Hawaii better than when they arrived with the brand new Malama Package.
When guests book their next trip to Oahu, they can now participate in volunteer projects ranging from reforestation and tree planting to self-directed beach cleanups and creating Hawaiian quilts for the island’s kupuna (elders). Guests will shuttle to Kualoa Ranch, a private nature reserve, where they can assist with whatever they need help with that day; activities can include thatching of traditional Hawaiian hale (houses), assisting with cleaning, planting, harvesting kalo or stewardship of the mala la’au lapa’au (Hawaiian medicinal plant garden). Guests can then go to a secret island to relax and enjoy lunch and play water sports before they head back to Waikiki.
By making a positive contribution, guests can have a more enriching travel experience, gain a deeper understanding of the island’s history and traditions, and let the spirit of Aloha guide them as they connect with the local community and create lasting memories. Plus, guests at Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa receive a fifth night free when booking.
