The U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI) will be participating in major events over Labor Day weekend to remind travelers about the beautiful destination.
Caribbean Vibes in Philly
The Department of Tourism of the Virgin Islands (USVI) is sponsoring the Made In America Festival in Philadelphia September 3-4, where those attending the festival can expect to experience USVI culture in a unique way. This is a strategic partnership to drive visitation to the islands of St. Croix, St. John, and St. Thomas and provide festivalgoers a small preview, of what to expect during the upcoming St. Croix Carnival this December. With in-person consumer activations, free consumer giveaways, and musical performances from local USVI artists, the USVI will have you “vibing” all weekend long. Festival attendees can also participate to win a trip to the U.S. Virgin Islands by visiting Cause Village during the weekend. Among the star-studded lineup of performers will be Bad Bunny, Tyler the Creator, Kodak Black, Ryan Castro, Icewear Vezzo, Tate McRae, as well as USVI’s hometown hero 5’2. Flavor explosion in Buffalo
As if music wasn’t enough, the USVI Department of Tourism is bringing Barefoot Buddha Restaurant, the winners of the most recent “King of the Wing” contest on the islands, to add a little USVI flavor and flair to the 20th National Buffalo Wing Festival. Led by Cory Baker, the Barefoot Buddha team will join restaurants from around America, serving more than 100 different styles of wings and additional “Buffalo Style” foods. The festival is expected to attract 50,000 attendees from every state and over 30 countries over Labor Day Weekend.
Caribbean Escape
Already have plans for Labor Day weekend? No worries, you can still plan a trip to the US Virgin Islands later in the year. There are currently great discounts on air travel to St. Thomas from several east coast cities including Miami, New York, and Tampa for September 2022 and January 2023. The Points Guy shares that airlines like Delta, JetBlue, American Airlines and United Airlines are showing roundtrip flights as low as $224 on economy. To book, search on Google Flights and book directly with the airline. With three islands to explore, no passport required for American citizens and no COVID restrictions, a trip to the U.S. Virgin Islands combines the ease of domestic travel with the beauty and excitement of a Caribbean getaway.
With all these activities going on, no wonder the USVI continues to trend as a popular destination
