Unique Holes at Golf Courses Around the World

With thousands of golf courses throughout the world, it is often challenging to find one that is truly unique.

Only a few golf courses are worth traveling for and we’ve gone a step further and selected the top holes that are worth traveling for — some with unique stories, incredible views and tricky terrain.

Below you will find a bit more information on each golf course, as well as what makes each specific hole unique.

Hole 12 at Golf Club Bad Ragaz – Grand Resort Bad Ragaz

Embedded 1,600-feet above sea level and in the breathtaking mountain scenery of the Rhine Valley in Bad Ragaz, this Par 5-hole begins with a view of the church in Bad Ragaz before following a dogleg to the right with a breathtaking view of the Churfirsten and the Bad Ragaz castle. Currently, the town is hosting a tri-annual art and sculpture festival, so works of art are displayed along the course, making the hole even more unique.

Hole 18 at Five Forts Golf Club – The St. Regis Bermuda Resort

The 18th hole at Five Forts Golf Club brings the natural beauty of St. George’s, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to life. As golfers approach the final hole, they will be surrounded by the picturesque landscape that defines Bermuda. The deep blues of the Atlantic provide a stunning contrast to the vibrant greens of the course. Hole 18 also provides panoramic views of Bermuda’s coast capturing the essence of the island, offering golfers an idyllic end to a day on the links.

Hole 14 at TPC Scottsdale – Scottsdale, Arizona

There is only one reason to play at TPC Scottsdale – it’s home to the award-winning Stadium course which is host to the PGA Tour’s Waste Management Phoenix Open. Known as one of “The Beasts,” Hole 14 at Stadium course exists purely for the most experienced golfers. While it may not have the risk/reward flavor, this dogleg left, uphill par-4 is a tough one, especially after it was renovated in 2014 by Tom Weiskopf.

Hole 3 at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club – Grande Lakes Orlando

Located at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Hole 3 bears resemblance to Augusta National Country Club, with the fairway and fairway bunkers framed by towering Pine Trees. While the hole provides golfer’s with a taste of one of the world’s most renowned courses, it is also where Charlie Woods, son of Tiger Woods, made his first eagle (linked HERE). This specific hole also happens to be Course General Manager August Decker’s favorite at the course.
