The Wildest and Most Artistic Parade of the Year is Back!

The 36th Annual Houston Art Car Parade, the city’s largest free public art event, is a can’t-miss event on Saturday, April 15th. What started as an annual event with like-minded artists in the 1980s now attracts over 250,000 spectators lining the downtown streets to watch the most unique and jaw-dropping art rolling on by.

The Art Car Parade started when a 1967 Ford station wagon was donated and transformed, and Houston-based artist Jackie Harris – armed with a $800 budget – transformed the car into a mobile work of art now known as the “Fruitmobile.” What started as a small road show is now a parade with over 250+ vehicles, with entries spanning across the entire United States, from lawnmowers to bicycles.

The fun is not limited to one day. From The Legendary Art Car Ball to the art party of the year at The Orange Show World HQ, there is something to do for everyone from Thursday, April 6th, until Sunday, April 16th.
