Concern for the future of Big Cats
Lions once roamed in vast numbers, and leopards, cheetahs, jaguars, tigers, and pumas thrived in wild landscapes. Collectively, they have lost approximately 95% of their historic habitat. As apex predators, big cats are an integral part of our planet’s ecology; they balance ecosystems and regulate healthy habitats. But their presence is fading. Across the world, big cats face imminent local extinctions — pushed to the edge by habitat loss, the illegal wildlife trade, and conflicts with humans.
Because of this, the Great Plains Foundation works constantly to create hope through wildlife conservation, and by raising awareness and support through the Big Cats Initiative fundraiser.
For a limited time, Beverly Joubert is offering a selection of six breathtaking prints from her Beverly Joubert Fine Art collection to support the Big Cats Initiative (BCI) — a program that has protected these species for over a decade. 100% of the profits from each piece will go directly to conservation efforts that restore habitats, prevent wildlife crime, and advance human-wildlife coexistence. These images represent some of her favorite pieces that represent endangered and threatened cats.
This is a commitment to a future where big cats still prowl through grasslands, jungles, and mountains — their natural habitats, and remain an iconic symbol of each region’s natural heritage.

The internationally acclaimed Beverly Joubert is an award-winning filmmaker, photographer, wildlife conservationist and National Geographic Explorer-at-Large with over 40 films co-produced with her husband Dereck Joubert and 12 published books as co-author with Dereck. She is one of the passionate co-founders of Great Plains, a unique conservation tourism company built around bespoke, caring, meaningful and considerate values.
