Do you happen to be traveling to Europe this summer? Established in 2016, ArcheoRunning offers private running and walking tours in Rome. Founded by Isabella Calidonna, an art historian, certified tour guide and coach for Fidal (Italian Athletics Federation) and Coni (Italian National Olympic Committee), ArcheoRunning combines all her passions to showcase the Eternal City in a new light.
Participants rediscover historic sites as well as learn about new hidden gems on custom tours from 2 to 4 hours. Created for individuals or groups of all ages, tours range up to a 5k (approximately 2.5 miles) with stops made along the way for historical stories and information.
Please see below three tours that are launching this year:
Hidden Rome Tour
- This tour offers participants an opportunity to uncover Rome’s hidden treasures. They will journey through the city’s intimate alleys and historic streets, discovering fascinating histories, anecdotes, and secrets along the way. From the widest alley to the smallest Vicolo di San Trifone, each corner reveals a new marvel waiting to be explored. With a new course, the tour takes travelers through hidden alleyways throughout the city as if getting lost in a labyrinth, only to reveal the best kept secrets of the historical city.
Early Bird Running/Walking Tour
- Participants can experience the magic of Rome at sunrise with the early bird running or walking tour. Starting at the historic site of Julius Caesar’s assassination, participants will traverse iconic squares and landmarks including the Capitoline Hill, Roman Forum, Via dei Fori Imperiali, and the Colosseum. This tour offers a unique blend of fitness and sightseeing, providing a fresh perspective on the Eternal City’s rich history and architecture.
The Unveiled Colosseum Tour
- This tour offers exclusive access to hidden sections of the Colosseum rarely seen by the public. From the intermediate gallery to the attic (highest point), participants will enjoy panoramic views and immersive insights into one of the world’s most iconic landmarks. The tour is thanks to a special collaboration with the Parco archeologico del Colosseo.
