Santo Collection Opens New Luxury Property in Santorini – With One on the Way

April 23, 2024 –  Santo Collection, a collection of sustainably minded and soulful luxury properties in Oia, Santorini, opens two new properties for the 2024 season. The newest additions to the collection include Santo Mine Oia Suites, a new 37-suite luxury property located overlooking the sparkling Aegean Sea welcoming guests for the first time this week, and The Villas by Santo Collection, two new independent four-bedroom luxury villas nestled in a secluded setting surrounded awe-inspiring natural beauty opening in early May. 

SANTO MINE OIA SUITES

Santo Mine is carved into the cliffs of Oia, Santorini at the site of an old stone mine above Ammoudi Bay. The luxury property takes inspiration from the rugged landscape and aesthetics of the Mediterranean region, with 37 individual suites outfitted with private pool or Jacuzzi, and direct views of dazzling sunsets and the Aegean so close that it feels like an extension of the hotel. The passionate living concept is enhanced by the beauty and energy of the natural surroundings, encouraging guests to embark on boundary-expanding explorations on land, at sea, and in the village of Oia just a short walk away. The minimum age for resort guests is 12 years. 

SUITES 

Each of the 37 suites of Santo Mine is designed for guests to embrace the distinctive colors, air, and light for which Santorini is rightfully renowned. The suites are inspired by the design concepts of brutalism and eclectic minimalism, with warm and cream color tones and natural raw materials including stone, wood, marble, and copper in their purest form. 

Santo Mine offers seven categories of suites, most sized from 32 to 39 sqm for up to three guests, each outfitted with a private pool or Jacuzzi, and all with a sea view. At the top end, two Majestic Suites run 50 to 63 sqm, respectively both with space for up to four guests and each with a pool and a Jacuzzi. 

DINING 

The resort invites guests to relax and feast al fresco on soulful flavors before spellbinding views of the main pool and the clear blue Aegean. Ālme Restaurant is open for dinner, with specialties such as a Calamari with wild Cretan oregano and a varied selection of fish dishes prepared with products and ingredients from top producers from Crete, the Aegean Islands, and every corner of Greece. The restaurant offers a fine dining experience of seafood cuisine focusing on dry aged fish cuts. Degustation menus are also available. 

By the main pool, the Rhoē Wine Bar & More is open for guests from sun up to sundown, serving a selection of authentic Greek specialties, original botanical cocktails mixed with home-grown produce from Santo Mine’s onsite herb garden, plus local wines and beers. Evenings can be spent enjoying the incredible sunsets with the backdrop of organic house music, created specifically for Santo Mine. 

Oenophiles will find much to enjoy with a guided wine-tasting experience at the resort Wine Cellar featuring a variety of local wine paired with flavorful delicacies. Santo Mine also offers private Candlelit Dining experiences for guests to enjoy in the privacy of their suite, with specially designed menus for every taste and a personal waiter for dedicated service.   

WELLNESS 

Santo Mine is a perfect sanctuary for guests to unwind with several wellness experiences and amenities. On property, guests can find the Somma Outdoor Gym, offering an array of state-of-the-art equipment and amenities. THE VILLAS BY SANTO COLLECTION 

Nestled amid natural beauty in the western part of the scenic village of Oia, each of the two four-bedroom Villas – including the Icon Pool Villa with Sunset & Sea View and the Lush Pool Villa with Sunset & Sea View – wrap guests in serenity and enviable privacy enhanced by striking design and bespoke services on demand. Interconnected, the Villas can be combined to create a single eight-bedroom Villa of 1,195 sqm, which can accommodate up to 16 guests in exquisite comfort. 

The Icon Pool Villa offers 257 sqm of space indoors, while the Lush Pool Villa is 233 sqm. Santo Collection also includes Santo Pure Oia Suites & Villas a sustainable and relaxing sanctuary for travelers on the path to self-fulfillment. Opened in 2016, Santo Pure debuted 20 new suites in its 2023 season. With 83 suites and 2 villas, the property offers guests space, serenity, pure relaxation, and privacy on the outskirts of Oia.
