New in the Mexican Caribbean: MICHELIN Hotels, Inclusive Beach & Fall Events

As the Mexican Caribbean prepares to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Quintana Roo this October, it remains a top destination known for its stunning beaches and rich Mayan heritage.

The fall season is packed with thrilling new experiences and events that highlight its reputation as a must-visit travel destination.

Key hospitality happenings include:

  • Eighteen hotels and resorts have received recognition from the MICHELIN Guide, showcasing the area’s commitment to unique experiences and high-service standards. Among the top contenders, Hotel Esencia in Tulum has earned three MICHELIN Keys, celebrated for its beachfront bungalows and organic spa rooted in ancient Mayan traditions.
  • Additionally, two properties have made it to the prestigious World’s 50 Best Hotels list: Maroma: A Belmond Hotel (#18) and Hotel Esencia (#48).
  • Playa las Perlas has become the first fully inclusive beach in Cancun, featuring new accessibility equipment and facilities for disabled beachgoers. Three wheelchairs, two aquatic chairs, two aquatic beds, and two aquatic walkers and mats are now available to visitors, in addition to accessible palapas, wheelchair friendly bathrooms and other structural improvements.
  • Xcaret’s Festival of Life and Death Traditions celebrates the Day of the Dead with themed entertainment, workshops, exhibits and a traditional All Saints’ Day mass.
