València’s Movie Map

While anyone can visit València through typical tours, this Movie Map offers travelers the unique chance to discover the city’s legendary sites and step into the scenes of their favorite films. The map divides the locations into sectors and provides the complete address for each and corresponding pictures and details of the movies filmed there. It also categorizes and divides the movies and TV shows filmed in each sector, allowing travelers to select areas they would like to visit easily. The different area divisions are the Centre of València, Ruzafa and Ensanche, the City of Arts and Sciences, the Marina and Port of València, and Albufera.

Valencia’s Iconic Film Sectors

The Centre of València has served as the backdrop for thirteen movies, a testament to its abundance of unique attractions waiting to be discovered around every corner. As one of the most significant historical centers in Europe, this area is home to a rich artistic heritage, the majestic Basilica of our Lady of the Forsaken, the Holy Chalice at the Cathedral of València, and the famous civil gothic monument of La Lonja, A UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Ruzafa and Ensanche weren’t only lens-worthy for six films but lens-worthy for travelers’ mementos and Instagrams. Dubbed the Valencian ‘Soho,’ this neighborhood boasts stunning art and architecture, including the modernist gem Colón Market, charming bars, flower shops, theaters, vintage clothing stores, bookshops, and an excellent shopping area. Beyond allowing visitors to explore famous film sets, this area also immerses them in Valencian culture.

With five distinguished movies and TV shows filmed at this site, the City of Arts and Sciences offers much more than impressive scenery. This architectural marvel, created by the Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava, is home to several iconic buildings in the city. Must visits include Oceanogràfic, Europe’s biggest aquarium; Hemisfèric, a digital 3D cinema; the Palau de les Arts, home to all of València’s best performances; the Science Museum, which has the unique policy of “not touching” being prohibited, and many more.

The Marina and Port of València are cutting-edge areas perfect for both films and activities such as walking, cycling, nautical sports, and enjoying local cuisine. The area also boasts the emblematic Veles e Vents building, which routinely hosts live music, conferences, theater productions, and exhibitions. These areas provide versatility in their activities and the scenery, offering beautiful and bustling locations for four films.

Albufera National Park, symbolizing nature in its purest form, has unsurprisingly been chosen as a filming location for four movies. The park sports a 2,800-hectare lake, the largest in Spain, offering beautiful views and majestic boat rides. It is also home to 300 species of birds throughout the year and even allows travelers to see them up close at the Racó de l’Olla Interpretation Centre. Travelers can also enjoy the landscape, which completely transforms with each phase of the agricultural cycle and explore the unique ecosystem that sports natural dunes and pine woods.
