Khang and Hull lead Solheim Cup’s for Aramco Team Series Presented by PIF – Tampa
Tampa, United States [21 February 2024] – There’s a star-studded field heading to Clearwater, as World No. 8 Charley Hull and World No. 12 Megan Khang are confirmed to compete in the Aramco Team Series Presented by PIF – Tampa.
The duo are the latest additions to the Ladies European Tour (LET) event, which also features Solheim Cup competitors Lexi Thompson and Carlota Ciganda, who was the winner at last year’s Aramco Team Series Presented by PIF in West Palm Beach.
With the Solheim Cup set to return in September 2024, the Aramco Team Series Presented by PIF – Tampa will offer spectators the chance to watch women’s golf elite battling it out in a vibrant team setting.
Khang, who partnered Thompson in the 2023 competition to form a formidable duo, will make her Aramco Team Series Presented by PIF debut – and will be keen to make her mark at the innovative team event.
“The Aramco Team Series is a really exciting format, and I can’t wait to experience this style of team golf in Tampa for the first time,” said three-time Solheim Cup representative Megan Khang.
“I’ve always loved playing in a team, so there’s no doubt this will bring an extra competitive edge to the tournament and be a lot of fun to play in.
“With the Solheim Cup in the US this year it’s a good chance for fans to get a little taster of what’s to come, so I’m looking forward to seeing a strong showing of fans out in Tampa Bay.”
After a strong 2023, which included a second placed finish in the US Women’s Open at Pebble Beach, England’s Hull will be looking to excite the crowds at Feather Sound Country Club.
The Team Europe titan has enjoyed a steady climb into the top ten ranked golfers in the world, and is now looking for her fourth career win in the United States. Hull made history as the first English winner of both the CME Group Tour Championship in 2016, and the Volunteers of America Classic in 2022.
Hull claimed a first Aramco Team Series Presented by PIF individual title in New York in 2021, defeating American Nelly Korda by a single stroke to claim the title at Glen Oaks Club, and the Englishwoman is hungry to complete the set with a team win.
