Hilton Molino Stucky Venice Launches 24 Luxurious New Suites Inspired By The Venetian Lagoon

May 2024…// Hilton Molino Stucky Venice, the five-star hotel and former flour mill on Giudecca island, is delighted to unveil 24 new suites by renowned Italian designer Biagio Forino.

The new suites, which feature design details and a color palate inspired by the Venetian lagoon, are available to book now and span three categories. This enhancement of the existing suite inventory results in a total offering of 45 luxurious suites for guests to choose from. The suites are the ultimate choice for a spring or summer getaway, and the perfect base to enjoy the 60th edition of the world-famous Venice Biennale.

Commenting on the new suites, Massimiliano Perversi, General Manager at Hilton Molino Stucky Venice, said “I am delighted to launch 24 new suites for Hilton Molino Stucky Venice, in collaboration with the celebrated designer Biagio Forino. The historic hotel building, with its prime position overlooking the waters of the lagoon and Giudecca Canal, is truly one of the icons of Venice’s skyline and it was only fitting that the new designs should reflect this storied history and stunning setting. Every detail in the design pays homage to this, resulting in a guest experience that is every bit as spectacular as the view from our new suites.”

Enhanced Suite Offering

The new suites include four new King Molino Family Suites, nine new King Molino Executive Suites, and eleven new King Molino Executive suites with a view of Venice, meaning the total suite offering will now comprise:

  • 4 King Molino Junior Suites
  • 5 King Molino Tower Suites
  • 1 Presidential Suite
  • 11 King Molino Family Suites
  • NEW: 4 King Molino Family Suites
  • NEW: 9 King Molino Executive Suites
  • NEW: 11 King Molino Executive Suites with a view of Venice

Each suite features a main bedroom along with a living area, some with interconnecting options offering accommodation for couples, friends and families alike—and 32 of the total suites also include a comfortable dining area.

Design

A calming and earthy color palate is seen throughout the scheme, with creams and teals taking center stage to provide the ultimate sophisticated and tranquil retreat in Venice. The teal hues reflect the colors of Venice’s lagoon, which can also be seen in the breathtaking views of Venice and the Giudecca Canal from some of the new suites.

Exposed wooden beams and brushed oak floors add warmth and pay homage to the building’s former life as a flour mill, while decadent details such as black lacquer tables by Chica and crystal chandeliers by Fortuny inject a dose of luxury. Meanwhile, bespoke ‘Toile de Venice’ Venetian fabric made by Rubelli is used for wall screens. The dreamlike teal-colored wallpaper for the new connecting rooms has been made by Inkiostro Bianco.

Rubelli fabrics are also seen across the other upholstered furniture including the sofas, armchairs, curtains and cushions, along with chairs, benches, headboards and bed structure upholstered in eco-leather fabric by Casamance. The furniture itself has been expertly crafted by bespoke furniture makers Status Contract and includes carbon fiber bedside tables, desks and sideboards.

References to the city of canals appear throughout; paintings by Grecale feature touches of gold resembling those found at St. Mark’s Basilica, while table and floor lamps by Italamp make use of Venetian Murano glass.

Biagio Forino

The interior design has been created by Biagio Forino, who the hotel is collaborating with again after he designed the iconic Molino Presidential Suite in 2019, which is the highest and largest suite in all of Venice.

Sharing his inspiration and vision for the design, Biagio Forino said “For this project, I was inspired by the location of the hotel on the water, as well as by the thousand-year history of the city of Venice, which simultaneously looks to the future as the home of the Biennale. This dichotomy of old versus new is reflected in the design, with exposed wooden beams referencing the building’s history as a former flour mill while the bright colors of the Indian wool rugs and soft furnishings evoke thoughts of a handful of confetti, symbolizing the many surprises and celebrations to be had in this city. Likewise, the wallpaper in the connecting rooms features a sky with clouds and a teal green dream, similar to what visitors have seen reflected in the lagoon for centuries past and what they will continue to admire for many years to come.”

A native of Salerno, Biagio Forino opened his studio in Milan in 1987 and has dedicated himself to interior design ever since. An incredibly versatile designer, his numerous projects include the finest private houses and creating schemes ranging from contemporary modern to classic. Forino delivers truly unique designs, working hand in hand with the client at each stage, from creating inspiring mood boards and the clever division of spaces, to the sourcing of materials and the creation of bespoke furnishings.
