CHANTILLY, Va. – GOLFZON America announces the launch of GOLFZON Tour, a groundbreaking competitive indoor golf league where 12 teams from cities in North America and the UK will compete in a series of matches culminating in the Tour Finals at the 2025 PGA Show, wherein the winning team will be awarded the grand prize of $150,000.
For over a decade, GOLFZON has operated the popular GTOUR in South Korea. Its professional golf simulator leagues attract the country’s top golfers to compete for cash purses broadcast live in South Korea on the world’s first simulator golf-specific cable network “Screen GOLFZON Channel.” GTOUR telecasts are regularly competitive against PGA TOUR and LPGA Tour coverage in South Korea, affirming GOLFZON’s expertise in producing premium professional golf content enjoyed by a global audience.
The company now brings its proven track record to North America and Europe. Instead of professional athletes, GOLFZON Tour provides an opportunity for the greater public in each region to participate with a qualifying process at the host venue of each team’s location.
“GOLFZON Tour came to mind while visiting and listening to our store owners over my first nine months as CEO. The goal of GOLFZON Tour is to positively impact and elevate GOLFZON customers by providing programming and funding that could be impactful for any of the 200 GOLFZON locations in North America and Europe,” says Sean Pyun, CEO of GOLFZON America. “While our inaugural season will feature 12 teams, I expect that number to significantly grow in the coming years.”
Each location has been placed into an East or West division and will field a team of five players. Matches will be contested on GOLFZON’s Network Play – which allows golfers in different areas to compete live against one another – at a host venue equipped with GOLFZON TwoVision simulators. A representative from each host facility will act as team captain and select the team’s participating players. Regions and team locations include:
East Division
- London – The Golf Rooms
- New York City – GOLFZON Social
- Toronto – Golfplay
- Detroit – Tee Times
- Louisville – Tee It Up Golf USA
- Orlando – GOLFZON Leadbetter
West Division
- Minneapolis – Element Indoor Golf
- Chicago – The Green
- Tulsa – BirdieBay
- Houston – The Daly Round
- Mexico – Mulligan’s Monterrey
- Los Angeles – Golf Envy
“While the idea of a simulator golf tour like TGL is new to golfers in North America and Europe, GOLFZON has been operating them in Asia for many years and we understand the infrastructure needed to make them thrive,” says Pyun. “Our partner facilities in these 12 cities are giving local golfers the chance to live out their dreams and compete for a substantial cash prize against the best players from other regions without the financial constraints of travel.”
All teams will play a five-week, round-robin schedule starting in early October to determine seeding for the playoffs, which will begin in November with teams vying for a spot in the Tour Finals to be contested live at the 2025 PGA Show in Orlando.
Beginning with first-round matchups in November, all 11 playoff matches will be broadcast on golfzontour.com and the official GOLFZON YouTube channel. Fans can watch each elimination match, plus highlights and interviews from their favorite teams as they compete to be crowned the inaugural GOLFZON Tour champions. The debut season of GOLFZON Tour will feature a selection of world-renowned courses including the iconic Old Course at St. Andrews, Kingsbarns Golf Links, Pebble Beach Golf Links, The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island, Harbour Town Golf Links, Spyglass Hill Golf Course, the Stadium Course at PGA West and many more. The Tour Finals at the 2025 PGA Show in Orlando will be contested on the virtual links of Bay Hill Club and Lodge, which has hosted the Arnold Palmer Invitational on the PGA TOUR schedule since 1979.
At the heart of this new circuit is GOLFZON’s industry-leading simulator technology, as each match will be contested on its award-winning TwoVision simulator across its trademark Network Play ecosystem. Known for its revolutionary 24-way moving swing plate, multi-surface hitting areas, and hyper-realistic wind and playing conditions, TwoVision provides the most true-to-life simulator experience by allowing competitors to play every shot on every hole from tee to cup – even the most delicate putts.
“By bringing together cutting-edge technology, top-tier venues and a passionate community of players, GOLFZON America is spearheading a new era of indoor golf entertainment,” added Pyun.
