Rio Grande, Puerto Rico – For the first time, Puerto Rico will host the grand finale of the prestigious Fundación Real Madrid Solidarity Golf Circuit, to be held on February 20 and 21 at the iconic Wyndham Grand Rio Mar. This unique event will see the Spanish team, led by global football legend Iker Casillas, face off against a talented Puerto Rican team in an exciting Ryder Cup-style format.

The Spanish team, comprised of the best players in the circuit, will arrive in Puerto Rico on February 18 and will stay at the iconic Wyndham Grand Rio Mar resort, located in the municipality of Rio Grande. Before the tournament begins, players will have the opportunity to enjoy the paradise offered by the resort and practice rounds on their championship golf courses designed by golf icon Greg Norman and Tom and George Fazio.
A Two-Day Competition
- February 20: The tournament will feature the “fourball” format, where pairs from both teams compete in a style that rewards teamwork and strategy.
- February 21: The second day will follow an individual format, with each player battling to score crucial points for their team.
The team with the most cumulative points after both days will be crowned the FRM Golf Match champions.
A Charitable Gala to End on a High Note
On February 22, an unforgettable charity gala will take place at Wyndham Grand Rio Mar. The event will include a cocktail “meet & greet,” a gala dinner with live entertainment and surprises, and the awarding of the trophy to the winning team. The gala will have a charitable purpose, raising funds for the Fundación Real Madrid and other local charitable causes in Puerto Rico.
A Sporting and Cultural Exchange
Beyond the competition, the Spanish team will have the opportunity to explore San Juan and enjoy the island’s rich gastronomy and culture, making this an unforgettable experience that goes beyond sports.
