The ’Silk Tie Experience’ with Aquadulza
New for Autumn 2024, Hilton Lake Como has partnered with local fashion brand Aquadulza, makers of the finest silk accessories including ties, scarves, twillies and more. With designs representing snapshots and unique views of Lake Como, finely printed on silk and skilfully transformed into elegant fashion accessories, Aquadulza’s entire production – from ideation to creation – is located in Como.
Thanks to the partnership, guests of Hilton Lake Como have the opportunity not only to purchase exclusive fine silk accessories on-site but can also embark on an immersive ‘Silk Tie Experience’. The new offering, available for groups of up to eight, will see guests discover anecdotes about the history of Como silk and the origin of the tie, while observing a local artisan hand sew the product in front of them. This is followed by an interactive workshop where participants will hear how to tie the tie in several different ways and style it to suit various outfits and occasions.
The Silk Tie Experience by Aquadulza is available year-round at Hilton Lake Como and is priced at €250 for groups of up to 8.

Lake Como Design Festival
September 15th – 22nd will see the sixth edition of the Lake Como Design Festival take place on Hilton Lake Como’s doorstep. 2024’s theme centers on ‘lightness’ as described by Italo Calvino in his ‘Six Memos for the New Millennium’: the lightness ‘associated with precision and determination, not with vagueness and indulgence to chance’. The festival will be held between Villa Del Grumello and Chilometro della Conoscenza, just a 15-minute walk from the hotel, and promises to take visitors on a mind-expanding journey discovering exhibitions and site-specific installations.
This year, Hilton Lake Como will host an exhibition by famous Tuscan sculptural designer Jonathan Bocca within the hotel’s internal courtyard. Entitled ‘A piedi nudi’, the installation will showcase three distinct sculptural pieces of oversized furniture – a chair, a bench and an armchair – reimagining the chair to create a cognitive journey. The question “Is that a chair?” encourages a dialogue about the essence of design and thought and by rethinking this symbol of design, Bocca invites visitors to question their perceptions and engage with the concept of design as a fluid and evolving idea, hence promoting a deeper understanding of how objects influence our emotions and behaviors.
The installation encourages participants to consider the balance between form and function, inviting them to explore how design impacts daily life. Each chair’s placement and form will challenge conventional views, inspiring a sense of curiosity and wonder. Through this exploration, Bocca aims to reconnect the observer with lost lightness, encouraging a renewed appreciation for creativity and innovation in a world often dominated by practicality and restraint.
Jonathan Bocca graduated in Interior and Furniture Design at IED in Florence and has worked at the Fabrica Research Centre in Treviso, where he honed his art. His works focus on the use of recycled paper, a by-product of the main industries in his hometown of Lucca, showcasing how we can all reuse organic waste in our daily life to give recycled materials a new life and meaning. His inspirations come from dreams, transforming them into reality by creating dreamlike – but functional – pieces.
