Hailing from a northern Maldivian island, Afaa is a remarkable 22-year-old female diving instructor and passionate conservationist trained under the esteemed Zoona Naseem, the Maldives’ first female PADI Course Director. Having grown up on an island, Afaa’s deep connection to the ocean fuelled her ambition to become a diving instructor. She hopes to share her love for the ocean with fellow travellers, who are drawn to the allure of the sea and want to witness its depths and beauty.
From June 6th to June 9th, a series of thematic briefings and presentations on whale shark and manta ray biology, coral bleaching and conservation, and safe snorkelling practices will be given by Nova’s marine biologist to provide insight into issues pressing to the region’s ecology. Thorough and environmentally-conscious briefings on each day to accompany guided snorkelling and reef cleaning excursions and examine whale sharks and corals up close. Experienced divers will also be able to embark on their own adventures and discover the remarkable world-class dive sites of the South Ari Atoll.
