The Valley, Anguilla, January 28, 2025 – In a strategic move to enhance accessibility to the island, the Anguilla Tourist Board (ATB) is pleased to announce its partnership with Charter Air Direct, operated by Freedom II to promote the new direct service between Anguilla (AXA) and San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU). This new route marks an exciting opportunity to expand travel options to the island.
With over 22 weekly flights from East Coast U.S. cities to San Juan, Puerto Rico is a critical hub for connecting passengers to Anguilla. In phase one of this partnership, the focus will be on brand awareness, particularly targeting travel advisors and residents in Puerto Rico, promoting Anguilla as a premier destination for discerning travelers.
The ATB’s collaboration with Charter Air Direct will also include comprehensive marketing support, which encompasses cross-promotion through both company and destination websites and social media platforms. Additionally, the ATB will engage in destination campaigns and trade presentations to further strengthen awareness within the travel trade.

This partnership ensures travelers enjoy a seamless, elevated experience, from take-off to touchdown. For corporate groups, Charter Air Direct offers a unique opportunity to grow the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions, (MICE) segment, with the ability to accommodate groups of up to 64 passengers.

The new flight schedule from Anguilla to San Juan will offer short charter flights three times a week: Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with convenient departure times. Flights depart from Anguilla’s Clayton J. Lloyd Airport (AXA) at 9:00 AM and from San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) at 4:00 PM. On Saturdays and Sundays, flights will leave Anguilla at 1:00 PM and depart from San Juan at 4:00 PM. Effective February 1, 2025, the departure time from San Juan will be 5:00 PM, The flights are operated by Freedom II, which uses Embraer 170 aircraft with a capacity of 64 passengers.
