Adriatic Luxury Hotels Presents ‘Taste the Mediterranean’ MICHELIN-Star Culinary Event
Dubrovnik, Croatia (September 18, 2024) – Hotel Excelsior Dubrovnik by Adriatic Luxury Hotels invites guests to savor an unforgettable culinary experience with its upcoming two-night MICHELIN-star dining event, “Taste the Mediterranean.” Set against the backdrop of Dubrovnik’s historic city walls and the sparkling Adriatic Sea, the event brings together world-renowned chefs for a celebration of Mediterranean cuisine, local ingredients, and Croatian wine. The dinners, taking place on Oct. 3 and 4 in the hotel’s main restaurant, Salin, will feature a fusion of flavors from Italy, France, and Japan, expertly crafted by MICHELIN-starred chefs and Croatia’s acclaimed culinary masters. Both evenings will be complemented by performances from Croatian opera singer Sandra Bagarić and pianist Darko Domitrović, celebrating the region’s vibrant cultural heritage.
The event will kick off on Oct. 3 with “Dubrovnik Meets Italy.” The exquisite six-course dinner will be prepared by Chef Damiano Nigro from the MICHELIN-starred Restaurant Ape Vino e Cucina in Alba, Italy, and Chef Mate Matić, from Adriatic Luxury Hotels’ own MICHELIN-recommended Restaurant Vapor. Chef Nigro is known for his modern take on traditional Italian cuisine, highlighting the fresh ingredients and rich flavors of Northern Italy, while Chef Matić brings the essence of Mediterranean cuisine to life with his creative dishes rooted in Dubrovnik’s coastal culture. Guests will enjoy a fusion of Italian and Croatian ingredients, paired with premium Croatian wines.
On Oct. 4, the culinary adventure continues with “Dubrovnik Meets France and Japan.” This evening will see Japanese Chef Ippei Uemura from Restaurant Tabi in Marseille, and Chef Petar Obad from Hotel Excelsior working together. Chef Uemura expertly blends French and Japanese techniques, creating dishes that are both refined and inventive, while Chef Obad is known for his dedication to local Croatian ingredients and traditions. Together, they’ll craft a six-course menu showcasing the interplay of Mediterranean and Japanese flavors, once again paired with fine Croatian wines.
