JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa Finalizing Redesign

The JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa in Palm Desert, CA. The 450-acre resort is finalizing its largest-scale redesign since opening. Rolling out this fall, renovations include an updated lobby entrance, 884 renovated guest rooms, and 234,000 square feet of refreshed event space – ahead of the grand opening in January 2020. 

·       Reimagined grand lobby entrance: all-new, soothing elements include water displays at the entry, artistic installations in the lobby, and an atrium that boasts floor-to-ceiling views of the surrounding desert landscape and the resort’s famed Venetian-style waterways. Within the lobby, an engaging JW Activity Table provides a blank canvas promoting togetherness. Programs can transform the space throughout each day such as a community workspace, or even a seasonal cocktail demonstration. Upon completion the lobby will also include a “Family Fun Zone” offering classic arcade games.

• 884 total guest rooms including 101 new suites: each adopting bulk amenities and hydration stations to eliminate plastic waste. The brand-new Griffin Suite category offers one king bed with a separate tub and rain-style shower, large vanity, hard wood and carpet flooring, and mountain views. Additionally, the 1,768-square-foot Chairman’s Suite offers sophisticated accommodations including a king bedroom with a spacious walk-in closet, oversized whirlpool bathtub, plush living room seating, office space, private service entry to a kitchenette, a formal dining area, and a 350-square-foot balcony overlooking the sprawling 18-acre lake.

• 234,000 square feet of renovated meetings space: honoring Frank Sinatra and his fondly admired “Ol’ blue eyes,” the renovation will incorporate midcentury modern design and shades of blue into the Sinatra Ballroom. Touching 234,000 square-feet of event space, updates are reflected in 37 sophisticated meetings rooms with seating for 3,050 attendees.
• 12 outdoor venues for creative breakout sessions: featuring newly resurfaced patio space, the 450-acre resort offers 12 collective patio and lawn areas available for outdoor activations. Expanding beyond traditional meetings space, Desert Springs executes outdoor dining, poolside group yoga sessions, live entertainment, and over-the-top themed events.

Notable wellness experiences customizable for groups visiting Desert Springs can include –

• Innovative banquet dining: featuring a customizable “Food Guru” service designed to accommodate individual dietary restrictions, allergies, and personal preferences upon request. Delivering globally inspired cuisine, Desert Springs prepares diverse recipes while committing to sustainably sourced “unconventional” protein and “alternative” seafood, imperfect produce (reducing waste), untraditional food stations (think food trucks, roaming pizza ovens), and “instagrammable” plating for a photo-worthy finish.
