Argentario Golf & Wellness Resort Restyles to Reflect the Essence of the Maremma

Tuscany, Italy, September 2024: Tuscany’s Argentario Golf & Wellness Resort, Autograph Collection has undergone a restyling to further reflect the essence of the Maremma into the property and its signature contemporary design with the use of a range of earthy colours, natural textures and organic materials that are found in this part of Italy.

The restyling process has brought a soft new look to a number of the public spaces, namely the impressive entrance hall, the capacious light-filled breakfast room, the quirky bar and the adjacent lounge to give a warmer, more cosy feel to all areas of the resort.

The Argentario design journey began with a deep respect for the surrounding nature of the Maremma and a vision to pay tribute to the rustic charm of this undiscovered part of southwest Tuscany while embracing the contemporary, striking aesthetics that the resort is so well known for. The result is a harmonious blend of eco-conscious design and modern, indulgent luxury that embodies the philosophy of the resort.

As you step into the majestic entrance hall, for example, you are greeted by expansive windows framing the radiant Mediterranean sky and the lush green flora of the golf course and nature reserve in which it is set. These breathtaking views complement the Tabarca-stone floors, the arched plexiglass and oak reception desk, and the natural-toned structural elements and organic materials that have been added to the great effect.

Whilst the resort’s unique dragonfly-shaped structure that features a limestone façade merges seamlessly with the surrounding landscape, the renowned interior designer Andrea Fogli has honed his design skills to curate a space where contemporary styling combines with the colours of nature to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The dragonfly theme recurs in the lounge bar located at the base of the stunning white spiral central staircase, thanks to a counter illuminated by windows reminiscent of dragonfly wings. Guests are charmed at the same time by the unusual yet playful boar tables designed by Marcel Wanders.

The restyling continues in each of Argentario’s 73 rooms and suites, which tell their story through sophisticated, comfortable and subtle design touches. In every room, there are reminders of the Maremma, with examples that include photos of local wildlife and tree-shaped wooden coffee tables. Whether you prefer the minimalist vibe of a modern art gallery or the sophisticated appeal of metropolitan chic with chrome finishes and stone tubs, the new-look rooms speak to the soul and offer calm and relaxation.

Every room features a private wooden decked terrace overlooking the championship golf course and Orbetello Lagoon up to the Mediterranean Sea to bring the outside in and allow guests to mix harmoniously with the surrounding wilderness.
