April 2024…// Hilton Lake Como, the modern-lifestyle hotel and former silk factory on the edge of Italy’s most famous lake, is delighted to announce the launch of an experiential new dining destination this season. Part of the luxurious lakeside property’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy to drive responsible travel and tourism globally, the Streetfood pop up will see a collaboration with local F&B partners, giving guests the chance to experience true Italian social dining.
From April 4th – October 15th 2024, ‘Streetfood’, a real Italian market will pop up in the lakeside property’s Taffeta garden, providing an immersive and authentic dining destination for families, friends and couples. Providing the opportunity to ‘live like a local’ and indulge in a variety of delectable offerings within a relaxed and informal atmosphere, market-goers will be able to choose from five live stations. Open to hotel residents and locals alike, the following stalls will be available throughout the duration of the pop up:
- An Aperol Spritz cart serving up the most iconic of Italian aperitivos, known for its striking orange colour and delightfully bittersweet flavor – the perfect accompaniment to a streetfood feast!
- A Piaggio Ape Pizza cart with built in wood-fired oven, serving a range of delicious pizzas complete with every topping imaginable.
- A delectable BBQ station, providing the freshest, locally sourced meats cooked on an open-air Ofyr fire-pit style barbeque.
- A Gelato cart in collaboration with the famed local ice cream shop, Gelateria Rossetti.
The fifth station will be dedicated to a rotating selection of local partners, providing Como artisans with an opportunity to showcase and sell products ranging from cheese, honey and cured meats to gin and craft beer. These local partners will include:
- Rivo Gin, a locally handcrafted distilled gin made using handpicked botanicals from Lake Como.
- Birrificio Italiano, the very first microbrewery in the Lombardy region, which since its launch in 1996 has become a benchmark for craft brewing within the Italian beer scene and beyond.
- Azienda Agricola Collina D’Oro, a farm in Como producing the famous saffron, for which the Lombardy region is famous.
- Marco D’Oggiono, a local producer of the finest cured hams, which has been trading since 1945.
- Pastificio Baradello, a corn farm that produces the cornflour used to prepare the typical Lombard dish of polenta.
The Streetfood Market will run from 6 pm until midnight, from Thursday to Monday, with the exception of July and August, when it will be open every night of the week.
