Vakkaru Maldives Unveils Reasons to Visit for Their Sixth Anniversary

Since opening its doors in December of 2017, Vakkaru Maldives, located in Baa Atoll, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve renowned for its spectacular sea life, has emerged as a world-renowned leading private island sanctuary, offering unparalleled luxury levels of service, and creating cherished memories for a growing community of loyal guests.

To celebrate its sixth anniversary, the resort is highlighting new reasons to visit the resort in 2024:

• New Three- & Four-Bedroom Beach Pool Residence: This accommodation can be adapted to guests’ preferences, making it an ideal choice for families or groups seeking an elevated beach getaway. The main residence has a large swimming pool and a spacious terrace with an outdoor gazebo overlooking the idyllic Indian Ocean. The third and fourth bedrooms have their own Beach Villa with Plunge Pool connected to the main residence, with its own additional whirlpool.

• As envisioned by local architect Nancy Maffessanti, the treatment rooms offer a tranquil feel with traditional Jamaican design. Incorporating local artisanship into the spa’s design, the treatment sinks, meticulously hand-molded and adding an organic finish to the room, were crafted by local potter David Pinto. The vibrant array of prints adorning the space were thoughtfully curated by Jamaican artist Patrick Waldemar, and the spa cabinetry, tailored to a classically Jamaican aesthetic, was skillfully constructed by a Jamaican carpenter using locally sourced Cedar and bamboo from Cue Park. The colorful art and touches of The Spa at Tryall are inspired by the colors of the seven chakra energy points of the body as recognized in yoga and healing traditions.

• On Resort Photo Studio: The newly constructed photo studio by Yash Lightroom offers guests unique opportunities to plan personalized, professional photoshoots, to commemorate cherished memories created on property.

• New Marine Experiences: The resort has introduced an array of PADI diving experiences led by newly appointed marine biologist, Lydia Glinski. The programs are designed for young explorers and adults including “Be A Marine Biologist for a Day,” dedicated PADI specialty diving courses and a Coral Adoption program.
