The famed Nevis to St. Kitts Cross Channel Swim, a remarkable 4 km open water event across the “Narrows” between Nevis and St. Kitts will take place April 6, 2024.
The Cross Channel Swim is the Caribbean’s premier open water swimming event and a bucket list challenge for open water swimmers, whether experienced or beginners. Some notable past participants include:
- Karlyn Pipes (International Swimming Hall of Fame)
- Chris McCormack (winner of the 1997 International Triathlon Union)
- Olivier Marceau (finished seventh in the first ever Olympic Triathlon)
- Emma Kate Lidbury (winner of 2011 Iron Man competition in Mallorca, The UK and Augusta)
- Keri-Anne Payne (two-time 10-kilometer open water world champion, and an Olympic silver medalist)
- David Carry (winner of seven medals in major international championships)

The swim starts at Oualie Beach, located in northwest Nevis, and crosses the “Narrows,” a strait that separates not only St Kitts from Nevis, but also the Caribbean Sea from the Atlantic Ocean, making this a highly unique aquatic experience. The swim finishes at Chockleshell Bay in southeast St. Kitts.
