Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs Debuts Downtown’s First Hotel Pickleball Courts

PALM SPRINGS, CALIF. – Rowan Courts, the 153-room Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs’ newest amenity, has opened to the public, providing locals and visitors access to the hotel’s outdoor pickleball courts in the heart of Downtown Palm Springs. The six competition-grade pickleball courts span over 11,000 square feet in a fenced-in space adjacent to the hotel, with the San Jacinto Mountains rising in the backdrop.

Whether a court commander, social pickler or beginner to the sport, players can schedule court time up to seven days in advance, organize matches, or join a waitlist via the CourtReserve platform for $10 per person, per court, for 2 hours. Guests of Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs have complimentary access to Rowan Courts, paddles and balls as part of the hotel’s daily resort fee. All players must sign a waiver in advance and check in at the hotel’s front desk for admission to the courts. Rowan Courts are open daily from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

“We are dedicated to delivering our guests world-class amenities and unforgettable moments,” said Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs General Manager Peggy Trott. “Our new pickleball courts stand as the only of their kind in Downtown Palm Springs, giving hotel guests, travelers, and the local community another fun and engaging way to experience The Rowan.”

Surfaced by Just Courts, the official court installer of the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Tour, the design of Rowan Courts draws upon Palm Springs’ mid-century modern heritage and desert landscape in vibrant shades of orange and green, creating an energizing atmosphere for camaraderie and friendly competition.

Rowan Courts is the latest temporary activation on the existing land between Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs and the Palm Springs Art Museum. The space, leased from Grit Development, previously held public art installations, including Czech artist David Černý’s “Babies” and an illuminated meditation path shaped like the San Andreas Fault titled “The Fault Line Meditation” by JEVPIC.
