Michelin Chef Series Coming to Round Hill

Montego Bay, Jamaica – July 30, 2024 – Round Hill Hotel & Villas’ esteemed Executive Chef Martin Ian Maginley is delighted to announce an extraordinary new culinary event series, featuring the artistry of two Michelin-starred chefs: Marcelo Fukuya from the celebrated Kinoshita restaurant in São Paulo, Brazil and Theodor Falser of the illustrious Johannesstube in South Tyrol, in northern Italy. This exclusive series will further elevate the dining experience for Round Hill guests, showcasing the pinnacle of global culinary excellence.

Kinoshita’s Legacy Meets Round Hill: A Michelin-Starred Thanksgiving 2024

Commencing this exquisite series, Michelin Chef Marcelo Fukuya will bring the essence of authentic Japanese cuisine to Round Hill during the Thanksgiving weekend, November 28-30, 2024. Renowned for its harmonious blend of tradition and modernity, Kinoshita restaurant has been a beacon of Japanese culinary excellence in São Paulo, Brazil, for years. Chef Fukuya, celebrated for his minimalist style, harmonizes fresh, seasonal ingredients with impeccable presentation, making each dish an act of culinary love.

Kappo cuisine at Kinoshita offers a refined and interactive approach to Japanese dining. Under the guidance of visionary restaurateur Marcelo Fernandes, Kinoshita has held a prestigious Michelin star for seven consecutive years, a testament to its exceptional quality and innovation. Round Hill guests will be treated to a special Thanksgiving weekend, including:

 

  • November 28 – Unlock the art of sashimi – Sashimi demonstration led by Chef Fukuya. Complimentary for guests. Spaces are limited.

 

  • November 28 – Celebrate Thanksgiving dinner with a Michelin Star flair – A symphony of flavors create a lavish Thanksgiving buffet, featuring cherished holiday classics elevated by the artistry of a Michelin-star Japanese live cooking station.

 

  • November 29 – A fusion feast for the senses – Jamaica Night: A culinary fusion where guests can experience a uniquely crafted dish that harmonizes Japanese and Jamaican flavors in an immersive dining experience.

 

  • November 30 – The grand finale – A five-course dinner menu allowing guests to delight in a meticulously crafted culinary masterpiece that showcases Chef Fukuya’s artistry and celebrates the spirit of Thanksgiving through a symphony of flavors.

 

Michelin-Star Chef Theodor Falser to Grace Round Hill – Easter 2025

Continuing the series, Chef de Cuisine Theodor Falser, acclaimed for his innovative “Taste Nature” concept at the Michelin-starred Johannesstube, will grace Round Hill with his exceptional talents from April 18-20, 2025. Chef Falser’s philosophy emphasizes high-quality, regional ingredients, reflecting his profound appreciation for nature and the rich traditions of his winemaking family.

Round Hill guests will have the opportunity to witness the chef’s cooking firsthand with a variety of events, including:

  • April 18 – An evening of culinary discovery – Chef Falser will unveil his culinary artistry focusing on Asian flavors in a unique cooking demonstration, giving guests firsthand insights into his creative process. The evening will conclude with a delightful selection of canapés and cocktails.

 

  • April 19 – A symphony of Italian flavors – Guests will be presented with a five-course Italian tasting dinner menu meticulously crafted by Chef Falser. This intimate dining experience will showcase his innovative take on classic Italian cuisine, using the freshest seasonal ingredients to create a symphony of flavors.

 

  • April 20 – Easter brunch with a Michelin star touch – Easter morning will feature a luxurious brunch. In addition to a variety of delectable dishes prepared by the culinary team, guests will indulge in a special Michelin-star station showcasing a one-of-a-kind dish created by Chef Falser.

Chef Falser’s culinary creations will be featured on Round Hill’s menu for six months following his visit, allowing guests to continue savoring them well beyond the event.

Proceeds to benefit local charity 

A portion of the proceeds from the events will be donated to Hanover Charities, a charitable organization based in Hanover, Jamaica, dedicated to improving education, health, and community development for residents of Hanover Parish.
