As travelers look for meaningful ways to celebrate America250, Michigan is stepping into the spotlight as a go-to destination.
This year, the award-winning Pure Michigan campaign celebrates its 20th anniversary which coincides with other centennial milestones and patriotic experiences primed for America250 travel guides:
- Centennial Milestones: Traverse City’s beloved National Cherry Festival is celebrating its 100th year this July and America’s Thanksgiving Parade in Detroit celebrates its own centennial in November.
- Fort Mackinac (est. 1780): Michigan’s oldest standing structure is offering daily Revolutionary War-era programming throughout the season.
- The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation:The entire 250-acre campus is dedicated to a yearlong America: 250 Years in the Making series featuring new exhibitions, special events, and events.
