Adam Brody, known for his early fame in The O.C. and his acclaimed role as a rabbi in a recent Netflix series, will return to Newport Beach to receive the festival’s ‘TV Performance of the Year Award (Actor).
Other highlights include the Newport Beach International Boat Show (May 1-4); the 30th Annual Balboa Island Parade (June 1); the Newport Beach Wooden Boat Festival (June 13–14). Taking place at golden hour on the 10 May is the new Rosé & Crudité Class, hosted by Courtney Norton, founder of Newport Beach-based Homegrown Culinary Gardens. Guests will be able to sip rosé whilst learning top tips for making their own dips, and discovering how to best create their very own artistic crudité display using a bounty of vegetables – including rainbow carrots, watermelon radishes, purple kale, and snap peas. From Thursday 8 May, the Buona Notte Nighttime Rituals will be launching at The Spa at Pelican Hill; a series of special self-care events designed to encourage deeply restful sleep. The evening will feature a Master Class by Natura Bisse on the ideal bedtime skincare routine, with the chance to sample products. Afterwards, guests will enjoy a 20-minute sleep therapy session in the Lounge, and a guided meditation in the lobby. BALBOA BAY RESORT
The 20th Anniversary Newport Beach Wine Festival will take place on Memorial Day weekend at Balboa Bay Resort – the city’s only waterfront luxury resort. With an impressive lineup of over 50 esteemed wineries and distributors, the three-day event is a must for dedicated oenophiles and those looking to simply learn more about wine.
On Friday May 23, guests can enjoy an exquisite four-course dinner prepared by Executive Chef Prabeen Prathapan and the culinary team, and a discussion lead by guest speaker, French vintner Jean-Charles Boisset. The Grand Tasting – featuring wines from Chambers & Chambers to Veuve Clicquot; to spirits from WhistlePig to Empress Gin – takes place on Saturday May 24.
