A seasoned hospitality executive and Dominican Republic native, Alvarez joins the leadership team at a defining moment as the resort continues to reshape the all-inclusive category through bold design, elevated service, standout culinary programming, and the unmistakable energy of the W Hotels brand.
In her new role, Alvarez will oversee all sales, marketing, and revenue-driven initiatives for W Punta Cana, leading market expansion, brand positioning, and strategic partnerships that drive long-term commercial performance. Her appointment further strengthens the resort’s position as a trailblazing luxury lifestyle destination in the Caribbean.

Alvarez brings more than two decades of hospitality experience leading high-performing commercial teams across the Caribbean, Latin America, Mexico, the United States, and Canada. Recognized as a dynamic and results-driven leader, she has played a pivotal role in more than ten successful hotel openings and brand transformations, driving revenue growth, launching new concepts, and forging high-impact industry partnerships.
Throughout her career, Alvarez has held senior commercial leadership roles with some of the hospitality industry’s most respected brands, including Marriott International, Karisma Hotels & Resorts, AM Resorts, and Meliá Hotels International. In 2024, she joined Marriott’s all-inclusive segment, where she has led comprehensive commercial strategies encompassing brand positioning, digital marketing, public relations, revenue collaboration, and key account management.
Alvarez holds an MBA from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra and a Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management, with degree equivalency validated by the University of Toronto. She is a Certified Meeting Specialist (CMS) and is fluent in English and Spanish, with additional proficiency in French and Portuguese.
