Villa del Palmar to Host 2nd Annual Food & Wine Extravaganza

LORETO, Baja California Norte, Mexico (Sept. 3, 2019) — “Taste & Sip,” a food and wine immersion featuring three sponsoring vineyards, returns to Villa del Palmar Beach Resort & Spa at The Islands of Loreto, June 25-28, 2020.  Participating wineries include Chateau Ste. Michelle, Lachini, and Clos Benoit.

Chateau Ste. Michelle has received 22 “Winery of the Year” honors from Wine & Spirits and has had 18 wines selected for the “Top 100” by Wine Spectator. Chateau Ste. Michelle was Washington’s first winery and today remains the flagship producer of fine wine in Washington.

Lachini Vineyards, which began producing wines for nearly 20 years ago, is acclaimed for its world-class Pinot Noirs from the rich soils of Oregon’s North Willamette Valley and was recently recognized by Wine Spectator as one of the “10 Oregon Standouts.”

Chateau Ste. Michelle and Lachini owners Ron and Marianne Lachini, along with winemaker Liz Kelly-Campanale will be on hand throughout the event for tastings and presentations and will introduce all the featured wines.

Clos Benoit is owned Ben and Bonnie Benoit, proprietors of La Quinta Bonita, a small country vineyard Inn and winery located in the heart of the Baja’s Valle de Guadalupe.

Villa del Palmar Beach & Spa Resort, set on 4,447 acres overlooking the Sea of Cortez on the eastern coast of the Baja Peninsula, will tantalize the senses of guests who reserve the four-day, three-night “Taste & Sip” package.  Sumptuous dinners, receptions, and tasting experiences, as well as an opportunity to play one of the world’s most acclaimed and breathtaking golf courses, TPC Dazante Bay, are part of the package.  The resort is situated on Danzante Bay, where the natural habitat includes 900 species of fish. World-class fishing, snorkeling, paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming, tennis, hiking, and whale watching join championship golf in this recreational-rich paradise.

Taste & Sip kicks off on Thursday, June 25, 2020, with a welcome cocktail and appetizers reception.

A four-course Italian dinner is scheduled for Friday at the resort’s Casa Mia Restaurant, while a five-course dinner at Danzante Restaurant, including tequila and cigars, caps the event on Saturday night.

During the days, guests may enjoy the pools, beach, activities such as paddle boarding, boat rides and golf.  Additionally, the on-property, world-class Sabila Spa offers a perfect place for relaxation and rejuvenation.

The 2020 Taste & Sip package is priced at $1,059 USD per person (based on double occupancy, including taxes and resort fees). In addition to the dinners, receptions and tastings, the package includes:

  • One 18-hole round of golf at TPC Danzante Bay, including cart;
