In fall 2026, VidantaWorld in Mexico’s Riviera Nayarit will host the VidantaWorld Mexico Open during a completely new moment on the calendar: October 29–November 1, right in the heart of Día de Muertos season. It’s the first time Mexico’s national open has moved to the fall… and it coincides with the debut of BON Luxury Theme Park, the world’s first luxury theme park, opening on property just ahead of tournament week.
For travelers, this isn’t really a golf story. It’s a destination story.
Tournament week now unfolds inside VidantaWorld, a 2,500-acre luxury resort ecosystem that blends beachfront relaxation, large-scale entertainment, and cultural immersion. Guests can spend the morning watching world-class competition, the afternoon on a mile-long stretch of beach or by expansive pools, and the evening at Cirque du Soleil’s new LÚDÕ show — with a next-generation theme park adding another layer to the experience.
The timing is intentional. Día de Muertos brings color, atmosphere, and cultural depth to the destination, while the fall season offers a different rhythm than peak winter travel. The result is a rare crossover moment where a global event enhances — rather than overwhelms — the travel experience.
Even the event infrastructure has been rethought with guests in mind. A new course configuration debuts in 2026, creating a more compact championship core that improves movement, sightlines, and flow across the property, making it easier for visitors to engage with the event while still enjoying everything around it.
As Grupo Vidanta’s Iván Chávez describes it, the evolution reflects how modern travelers experience major events today… as part of a broader, curated escape rather than a single-purpose trip.
The Mexico Open becomes, in effect, a backdrop to something larger: a week where luxury travel, culture, entertainment, and sport intersect in a way few destinations can offer.
