GALENA, Ill. (June 3, 2025) – One of the most popular fundraising summer events, the Great Galena Balloon Race, returns to Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa in The Galena Territory. Weekend events will take place from Fri. June 20 through Sun. June 22, 2025 and will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) of Eastern Iowa and Camp Hertko Hollow.
“This event draws thousands of people to The Galena Territory year after year,” said Colin Sanderson, director of sales and marketing at Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa. “Visitors will experience a spectacular three-day adventure with multiple balloon races, two-night glows, balloon rides, live music, art sale and activities for the whole family.”
Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa is the host sponsor for the balloon race, and all activities take place on the North Course Practice Range at the resort. Since 2002, the weekend events surrounding the Great Galena Balloon Race have raised over $350,000 for JDRF and Camp Hertko Hollow, which uses the money to fund research to find a cure for Juvenile Diabetes.
Admission:
