The reimagined 18-hole, par-71 course is now open, following a successful member preview period in June and nearly a year after the front nine redesign was completed.
The comprehensive redesign reimagines all 18 holes, with a focus on walkability, playability for all levels of players, resource sustainability, and distinctive golf shot options throughout the course. Enhancements include the complete reconstruction of greens and tees, reshaping and regrading of fairways, modernization of bunkers using the Better Billy Bunker™ system, and the introduction of a new golf facilities area. A full re-grassing program introduces premium bentgrass across greens, tees, and fairways, complemented by Kentucky bluegrass and fescue roughs, while upgraded irrigation and drainage systems ensure long-term course health and environmental stewardship.

Located in Stowe, VT, with breathtaking views of the Green Mountains, the course sits on the historic grounds of the former Le Liberté dairy farm, dating back to the early 20th century. Guided by Welling’s design philosophy, the refreshed course emphasizes approachable play for golfers of all ages and abilities while maintaining a thoughtful challenge for more experienced players. Expanded fescue landscapes, a long-term tree management plan, and enhanced sightlines further highlight the property’s natural beauty, creating a course that is as visually compelling and highly playable. The transformation has already garnered national attention, with Stowe Country Club recognized as one of LINKS magazine’s “9 Notable Course Redesigns since 2020.”

Complementing the golf experience, Stowe Country Club offers dining at The Pub, a member-focused gathering space featuring modern interpretations of traditional fare with an emphasis on chef-driven barbecue-inspired cuisine. Designed as a relaxed social hub, The Pub features indoor and outdoor dining, including a patio and scenic deck, and serves as a welcoming place for members and their guests to gather before or after a round. Additional on-course enhancements include a new comfort station—the “Sugar Shack,” accessible from both the 5th and 14th holes, offering restrooms, a member honor station, and food and beverage service during peak times.
