courchevel, france | february 23, 2026 – Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin marks Rosewood’s debut winter resort and second property in mainland France. Located in the prestigious Jardin Alpin enclave of Courchevel 1850, with direct ski-in, ski-out access to Les Trois Vallées—the world’s largest connected ski area—the resort introduces a new expression of alpine luxury, where elegant contemporary design, art, and local craftsmanship compose a living narrative inspired by the mountains.
Designed by acclaimed French interior designer Tristan Auer as an eclectic chalet, the property features 51 rooms and suites, including three signature houses, offering guests an intimate retreat at one of Courchevel’s most exclusive addresses. Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin embodies the brand’s place-driven design philosophy and discovery-led approach to the guest experience.
“With Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin, we set out to create a destination that celebrates the joy of alpine life while delivering the curated experiences Rosewood guests expect—a place to gather, explore, and create lasting memories in one of the world’s most beautiful settings.”

a legendary address reimagined for a modern era
Perched within the storied Jardin Alpin neighborhood, the property draws inspiration from Courchevel’s golden era of alpine travel, when the opening of the world’s first mountain airport in 1961 transformed the region into a glamorous winter playground for royalty, tastemakers and Hollywood icons. Today, that same spirit of sophistication lives on through Rosewood’s lens of immersive, destination-led hospitality. The interiors throughout embody exceptional workmanship and a deep resonance with nature through noble, tactile materials molded by hand.
The façade is composed of Vals Quartzite quarried in the Swiss mountains, with warm wood and copper accents woven throughout. The entrance door is hand-carved using locally sourced wood, setting the tone for the exceptional artistry found throughout the hotel.
rooms & suites offer alpine sanctuaries
Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin’s 51 rooms, suites and penthouses are crafted as refined alpine residences that connect seamlessly with the surrounding slopes, throughtfully designed to maintain constant dialogue with the surrounding mountains. Each accommodation features a private seated terrace, extending the living space outdoors comfortably, allowing guests to take in sweeping views of the snow-covered peaks.
Select signature suites feature illuminated bars made from brushed Himalayan salt blocks angled to echo the silhouette of surrounding mountain ranges, introducing a softened warmth to the space. When lit, the salt reveals subtle transparencies and tonal variations, casting a gentle, diffused glow with custom-designed Carapace wall lights, also fashioned from Himalayan salt, reinforcing a sense of purity and craftmanship.
The property’s two two-bedroom penthouses offer a private retreat after a long day on the slopes, welcoming up to four guests. In both, headboards are formed from hand-sculpted concrete shaped with a stone effect to imitate natural rock. Saulire House features a floating art installation by Italian fashion designer Christian Pellizzari, Rye Ergot, made from hand-blown Murano crystal and mirrored copper-coloured glass. Courchevel House reinterprets the traditional Alpine fireplace through a contemporary lens, combining bush-hammered bluestone and metallized, patinated brass.
The largest house, Jardin Alpin Apartment features four-bedrooms and accommodates up to eight guests. Designed by French architects Karl Fournier and Olivier Marty of Studio KO, the penthouse is an art lover’s haven curated around moments of conviviality, with a private elevator, expansive terraces overlooking the Sommet de la Saulire, a private cinema, a professional kitchen and a dedicated elevator entrance.
“We approached the project as though we were creating a private mansion chalet rather than a traditional hotel. The idea was to capture the glamour of the mountains while transporting guests into another world—a place where every space invites them to experience and discover something beyond the expected.”

modern luxury and traditional artisanship
In line with Rosewood’s design-led approach to luxury, Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin’s art collection is an integral part of the guest experience. Upon entering the lobby, guests encounter crystalline reflections from Icelandic-Danish artist Olafur Eliasson’s installation—Two harmonious yet different crystals sharing views and reflection—shimmering across mirrored walls, creating the illusion of floating geometric forms that seem to extend into infinity.
Behind the concierge desk, a bespoke artwork composed of chamotte stoneware and glass by French artist Amandine Haeghen celebrates nature as her primary source of inspiration. The Breccia marble staircase, lightly sandblasted and framed between two copper blades, creates a dramatic sculptural transition through the lobby. On the first floor, a textile artwork by Morgane Baroghel-Crucq offers a contemporary interpretation of the ancient craft of weaving.
The Cigar Lounge is a sculptural masterpiece itself, meant to evoke an inverted pinecone composed of copper scales and crafted by Studio MTX, part of Atelier Montex, a historic haute couture embroidery house recognized by Chanel’s Métiers d’Art. In the Ski Room, REFLECT by textile artist Elisa Strozyk forms a crystallized, reflective landscape through her signature “wooden textile,” echoing the surrounding alpine environment.
alpine cuisine reimagined at salto
At the heart of the resort is SALTO, a dynamic dining destination led by Chef Gioia Baek and inspired by the culinary flair of the Italian Alps. Evolving throughout the day, SALTO serves as a vibrant hub where families and friends gather under breathtaking mountain views. By night, SALTO transitions into an elegant dining destination, presenting an exquisite alpine-inspired menu in a sophisticated atmosphere, while SALTO Lounge offers a more intimate setting for night-cap cocktails, late-evening indulgence, and lingering conversation, extending the spirit of the mountains well into the evening.
Born in South Korea, Chef Baek has been exploring Italian culture and cuisine since 2015. Mentored at three-Michelin-starred Da Vittorio in Bergamo, Italy, she has made SALTO a bold destination with refined dishes and memorable flavors—from Tuscan seafood Cacciucco to puff-pastry Pithiviers filled with Angus beef and Périgueux sauce.
By day, the terrace and its panoramic views welcome skiers directly from the slopes, offering a sunlit alpine gathering place where the contemporary Chalet Savoyard experience celebrates the beloved culinary tradition. Overlooking the slopes, guests are invited to savor elevated interpretations of local specialties prepared à la minute, from classic Savoyarde fondue to refined variations infused with Champagne, black truffle, or porcini. At the heart of the terrace guests can enjoy an open-air fire pit that becomes the focal point of the culinary experience, bringing a sense of warmth and conviviality to lunchtime dining. Before diners’ eyes, the chef grills pristine prawns, fresh fish and select cuts of meat over open flames, designed for sharing and lingering between ski runs.
As the afternoon unfolds, the ritual of après-ski takes centre stage at SALTO Lounge. The venue becomes a lively yet relaxed setting where generous desserts are shared, signature cocktails are poured, and vintage Champagne flows as the sun dips behind the peaks. A live DJ provides a refined energy, inviting guests to unwind beside the fire after a day on the slopes.
The restaurant design echoes the wider hotel’s alpine craftsmanship. The base of the bar was sculpted with a chainsaw, evoking the work of mountain woodcutters, while the translucent glass bar top, infused with gold, recalls the shimmer of a glacier. The restaurant’s wooden floor uses the traditional end-grain technique found in historic chalets.
