Travelers looking to experience Australia’s iconic Great Barrier Reef now have the opportunity to enjoy exclusive access to Journey Beyond’s Reefworld, the iconic pontoon at Hardy Reef, which has been reimagined exclusively for overnight Reefsleep and Reefsuite guests following an extensive transformation.
Located within the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef, Reefsleep and Reefsuite offers a more elevated and intimate way to experience one of the world’s most extraordinary natural wonders. The all-inclusive experience combines premium dining and Australian wines, guided snorkeling led by marine experts, newly refreshed overnight accommodation and exclusive access to the pontoon.
From the first snorkel of the day through to sunset cocktails and dinner beneath the stars, guests can settle into the rhythm of the reef, with knowledgeable hosts bringing the surrounding marine world to life through guided experiences and storytelling.
Highlights include:
- Reefsleep: Guests can sleep beneath the stars in one of 16 spacious, four-poster Reefbeds, complete with privacy screens for added comfort.
- Reefsuites: For an even more immersive stay, guests can retreat to underwater suites with floor-to-ceiling views into the vibrant marine world surrounding Hardy Reef.
- Elevated dining: A seafood buffet lunch on arrival is followed by sunset cocktails and canapés, a chef-led three-course dinner paired with premium Australian wine, breakfast with barista-made coffee and a farewell two-course shared platter lunch.
- Exclusive reef experiences: Guests have access to knowledgeable reef hosts and guides, with guided snorkeling, storytelling around the reef’s ecology and biodiversity, an underwater observatory and semi-submarine tour.
- Optional adventures: Scuba diving and scenic helicopter flights over the Great Barrier Reef are also available.
The reopening forms part of Journey Beyond’s $40 million investment in the Whitsundays and continued premiumization of its Cruise Whitsundays portfolio. From 2027, a new 36-meter catamaran will also join the fleet, featuring a dedicated area exclusively for Reefworld guests.
