New Argentinian Desserts Cooking Class Features Dulce de Leche at Mendoza Bespoke Hotel

Mendoza, Argentina (September 20, 2024) – SB Winemaker’s House & Spa Suites has introduced a new culinary experience, Dulce Traditions, a hands-on Argentine dessert-making class highlighting the country’s iconic confection, dulce de leche. Set in the stunning gardens of the luxury boutique estate, this immersive class invites guests to indulge in the quintessential flavors of Argentina while learning how to prepare three beloved desserts that have defined the country’s culinary heritage for generations.

Dulce de leche, a rich caramel-like confection made by slowly simmering sweetened milk, holds a special place in Argentine culture. Originating in the 19th century, its sweet, creamy texture is found in everything from breakfast pastries to elaborate cakes, symbolizing both the comfort and indulgence of Argentine gastronomy. During Dulce Traditions, participants will learn to create three traditional desserts featuring this beloved treat alongside one of the hotel’s expert pastry chefs:

  • Rogel: A layered cake filled with dulce de leche and topped with meringue.
  • Alfajorcitos de Maicena: Soft, delicate biscuits filled with dulce de leche and rolled in coconut.
  • Budín de Pan: A classic bread pudding, infused with dulce de leche for a sweet, comforting finish.

The hands-on experience also includes a wine pairing, with guests enjoying a glass of pioneering oenologist owner, Susana Balbo’s, Osadía de Crear Pinot Noir Sparkling Wine and Críos Dulce Natural, both made at her nearby Winery. Along with water service featuring herbal infusions, this pairing enhances the sweet flavors of the desserts. Each guest will also receive a rolling pin, a jar of homemade dulce de leche to take home, and a recipe book detailing the class’s creations. The Dulce Traditions cooking class is available for USD $130 per person, with a minimum of two participants required.

As a nod to SB Winemaker’s House’s commitment to blending wine, wellness, and gastronomy, this new offering is just one of many experiential highlights. Guests can also explore a wide range of other experiences, from curated wine tastings and vineyard tours to holistic wellness treatments and soft adventure.
