Natural Habitat Adventures Unveils a Brand-New ‘Ultimate Australia Safari’

Boulder, CO – May 9, 2023 – Natural Habitat Adventures, a leader in sustainable and conservation-focused travel, has unveiled another exclusive new trip – an ‘Ultimate Australia Safari’ that will debut in 2024 and spans the continent from the northern tropics of Queensland to Tasmania in the Southern Ocean, and diverse points in between.

This 21-day, in-depth wildlife extravaganza features visits to eight national parks, seven private wildlife sanctuaries, four World Heritage Sites, and a variety of exclusive private experiences along the way – from boat safaris to bush walks with eminent conservationists, and much more – designed to provide a more meaningful encounter with Australia’s amazing nature and wildlife.

In one trip, guests will experience the ancient Daintree Rainforest, the volcanic Atherton Tablelands, the Great Barrier Reef, Tasmania’s mountains and lakes, the rugged Outback of the Ikara-Flinders Ranges, Kangaroo Island, and more. Along the way, there will be ample opportunity for up-close encounters with a wide array of the continent’s unique wildlife, including koala, kangaroo, wombat, wallaby, pademelon, platypus, cassowary, crocodile, quoll, echidna, goanna, and the Tasmanian devil, to name a few.

“When you look at a world map, you can see why Australia is known as the ‘Land Down Under’ – it’s a huge island continent, way south, alone in the ocean, and it takes some effort to get to,” said Ben Bressler, Nat Hab’s founder and president. “But its isolation is also why it’s home to such an intriguing array of wildlife and staggering landscapes – and with this new one-of-a-kind itinerary, our guests will see it all; there is no bigger or better Australia adventure for nature lovers.”

To maximize time on the ground and make point-to-point travel during the trip as seamless as possible, Nat Hab has chartered planes for certain legs of the journey, eliminating waiting time between flights and connections. Guests will also enjoy staying in accommodations that have been specifically selected for their proximity to nature, their unique atmosphere, and wherever possible, their commitment to sustainability and environmental leadership. Highlights include a fly-in ecolodge on a remote barrier reef island and an Outback safari camp under the stars in the Flinders Ranges.

This all-encompassing nature odyssey also offers the opportunity to learn about Australia’s diverse and dramatic landscapes through the lens of the people who have called it home for millennia. From savanna to swamp to melaleuca forest, this is Aboriginal homeland. Through cultural encounters, including Aboriginal-owned and operated ecotourism enterprises, Nat Hab guests will witness how local people are bringing the wisdom of traditional sustainable living and land management to natural ecosystems today.

Guests will also enjoy behind-the-scenes tours and private meetings with naturalists, scientists, and conservationists that aren’t offered by more conventional companies.

The new Ultimate Australia Safari’s inaugural season will kick off in 2024, with a total of five departures – Feb. 25-Mar. 16, Mar. 10-30, Oct. 20-Nov. 9, Nov. 3-23 and Nov. 27-Dec. 17.

Groups are limited to a maximum of 12 travelers per trip and pricing starts from US$26,895.00 per person, which includes accommodations, the services of Nat Hab’s professional Expedition Leader, local guides and lodge staff, all meals from dinner on Day 1 through breakfast on the final day, all activities and entrance fees, and much more.

Nat Hab continues to offer its two shorter Australia adventures – one, a 13-day itinerary that highlights of the north, the other, a 12-day adventure focused on the south. For travelers wishing to extend their Australian adventures, the company also operates a 12-day New Zealand Nature Explorer.

As always, the carbon emissions from the entire trip, including the roundtrip flights to and from Australia, are 100% carbon offset.

This new trip comes on the heels of Nat Hab announcing another new addition a bit closer to home: Haida Gwaii: Islands at the Edge of the World. This intimate sailing voyage, which debuts this summer, explores the coast, culture and conservation on this wild and windswept archipelago located 60 miles off the northwest coast of Canada.
