[ORLANDO, Fla] – September 3, 2026 – Loews Hotels & Co, co-owner and operator of the hotel portfolio at Universal Orlando Resort, announces the promotion of Stephen Cummings to senior vice president of operations for Loews Hotels at Universal Orlando. In this executive leadership role, Cummings will oversee operations and strategic direction for the expansive hotel portfolio at one of the world’s premier vacation destinations.
A respected hospitality executive with nearly four decades of industry experience, Cummings returns to Orlando, where he held key leadership roles at multiple Loews properties from 2018 to 2023. Most recently, he served as the Complex Managing Director for Loews Arlington Hotel & Convention Center and Live! By Loews in Arlington, Texas. Under his leadership, both hotels achieved record-setting performance, exceptional guest satisfaction and strong team member recognition.
“Stephen led the opening teams at both Universal Aventura Hotel and Universal Endless Summer Resort – Dockside Inn and Suites – openings that were milestone moments for the partnership in Orlando and our growth there,” said Loews Hotels & Co Chief Operating Officer Dan Flannery. “He is a passionate culture carrier and a dynamic hotel operator.”
“I am honored to return to Orlando and lead such a dedicated team of professionals and an extraordinary collection of hotels,” said Cummings. “The Orlando region is a vitally important part of Loews Hotels & Co and I look forward to building on the incredible momentum of this region, empowering our teams and creating exceptional experiences for our guests.”
Loews Hotels at Universal Orlando’s remarkable growth and success is highlighted by the addition of three new hotels in 2025 – Universal Stella Nova Resort, Universal Terra Luna Resort, and Universal Helios Grand Hotel, a Loews Hotel. With these highly anticipated hotel openings leading up to the debut of Universal Epic Universe, the destination’s hotel portfolio now offers guests an even broader range of immersive accommodations. Each hotel features distinctive themes and design, diverse dining experiences, and exclusive theme park benefits. These additions further strengthen Loews Hotels’ position as a premier hospitality company, delivering exceptional stays that complement the excitement of Universal Orlando’s world-class theme parks.
Initially beginning his hospitality career in the culinary arts, Cummings held several leadership roles as executive chef and executive sous chef for brands including Renaissance, Ritz-Carlton and St. Regis before being promoted into leadership roles at Loews Coronado Bay Resort, Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, and the Don CeSar Hotel.
