Available from late February through March and the first days of April, the ultra-boutique SB Winemaker’s House offers a three-night Harvest Experience that invites guests to live wine from the inside at the estate created by Argentina’s first female winemaker, Susana Balbo, and her daughter, Ana Lovaglio Balbo.
Unlike a traditional wine lodge stay, the experience centers on full immersion. Highlights include a guided visit to Susana Balbo Winery during active harvest, where guests gain firsthand insight into how vineyard decisions, timing, and intuition shape each vintage. Guests participate in hands-on vineyard activities before gathering for a traditional end-of-harvest asado barbecue.
The experience is intentionally restorative as well. Guests are welcomed with a post-travel massage and an in-suite aromatherapy bath, the tub of which itself is inspired by concrete egg fermentation vessels, followed by vinotherapy rituals that draw on the antioxidant properties of grapes and grapevines. Guided blending sessions allow guests to experiment with different varietals and create a custom wine blend to take home.
Early March visits may also coincide with La Fiesta Nacional de Vendimia (March 6–8), Mendoza’s iconic harvest festival dating back to the 17th century and widely regarded as one of the world’s great wine celebrations. The city comes alive with parades, performances, and ceremonies honoring the land, the vines, and the people behind the harvest.
Starting at $4,060 USD for two, the Harvest Experience includes three nights’ accommodation, roundtrip airport transfers, daily artisanal breakfast, a welcome massage, a guided winery visit with harvest activity and vineyard asado, and an in-suite aromatherapy bath.
