(CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.) – Keswick Hall – the acclaimed 600-acre luxury resort set in the scenic Virginia Wine Country – is proud to announce University of Virginia (UVA) alumna and two-time LPGA Tour champion Lauren Coughlin as its official touring professional.
“Full Cry at Keswick Hall is the best golf course in Virginia, and this partnership is something I’ve wanted for a long time,” Coughlin said. “To be able to officially call Keswick Hall my home club in Charlottesville is really exciting. The city means so much to me and my husband John. We are a team on and off the course, and Keswick Hall recognizes our values which makes the relationship even more special.”
Coughlin enjoyed a career year in 2024, securing her maiden LPGA Tour victory at the CPKC Women’s Open. Two starts later, she captured a second title at the ISPS Handa Women’s Scottish Open. Those performances sealed Coughlin’s Solheim Cup roster spot on the victorious Team USA and punched her ticket to this week’s LPGA Tour season-opening event Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions. Entering 2025, Coughlin is currently positioned at No. 15 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings.
Before joining the LPGA Tour in 2018, Coughlin put together a decorated career for the University of Virginia. She won the 2016 ACC Championship individual title to earn a spot on the All-ACC team, was bestowed second team All-America honors by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association in 2016 and led the ACC in birdies (114) during the 2015-2016 season.
“This partnership underscores Keswick Hall’s commitment to excellence and our position as a premier U.S. golf resort destination,” said Molly and Robert Hardie, owners of Keswick Hall. “Lauren is a fantastic person, and it’s a joy to partner with one of the best golfers to ever come out of the University of Virginia.”
“I’ve known Lauren since she started at UVA, and she is a first-class human being who showcases such poise and grace in her daily life, on and off the course,” said Rob McNamara, Director of Golf at Keswick Hall. “She is a wonderful addition to our Keswick Hall family, and we look forward to this fantastic partnership.”
Full Cry merges the best of modern golf course architecture with the rolling topography of central Virginia and serene backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains on the horizon. Since opening in 2014 to rave reviews including “Best New Courses” by Golf Digest, Full Cry has received numerous accolades including current rankings of No. 4 in Golfweek for “Best You Can Play in Virginia” and No. 57 in Golfweek for “Top 200 Resort Courses in the U.S.” Keswick Hall was also previously honored with the prestigious Golf Digest Editors’ Choice Award for “Best Golf Resorts in the Americas” for seven consecutive years.
“Keswick Hall is so beautiful, especially when you’re on No. 18 tee with the incredible views of the hotel and clubhouse,” said Coughlin. “Full Cry is always in phenomenal condition and it’s an easy walk, which is not usually the case with hilly courses in Charlottesville. It’s hard for me to find greens that are close to what I face every week on the LPGA Tour, but the greens on Full Cry are definitely as close as you can get. They are great to practice on and help dial in my putting for LPGA tournament play.”
“We are thrilled to work with Lauren, an incredibly talented and accomplished golfer with strong ties to the Charlottesville community,” added Louis Shapazian, General Manager of Keswick Hall. “We look forward to welcoming Lauren and her husband John, and we’ll be rooting for her every week during the LPGA Tour season.”
