As Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach prepares to celebrate its 8th anniversary this June, the resort continues to set a standard in sustainable hospitality, inviting guests to take part in its eco-conscious initiatives.
In light of Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach celebrating their 8th anniversary this coming June, they continue to set a standard for eco-conscious tourism. The first initiative of 2025 launched in January, as the property introduced the Green Composting Project, which revolves around sustainable garden waste management. The initiative includes three composting containers located at the hotel ground, that collect daily garden waste, including fallen leaves and twigs, after being gathered and shredded. Every 15 days, these piles will be soaked with effective microorganisms to slowly break them down to green compost. The impact is vast, contributing approximately 6.3 tons every three months, effectively then used as fertilizer for the hotel grounds. Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach is also working to minimize the use of fresh water for maintenance purposes by collecting wastewater from the long water pond located behind the property, and pumping it into their sewage treatment plan, to then be repurposed into the garden areas.
The resort has been steadfastly implementing a range of these initiatives that not only benefit the local community in diverse ways but also actively involve and engage guests, through Endek painting, rice and coral planting, where the hotel team works together with local farmers to cultivate plants. This program offers guests the opportunity to participate in hands-on experiences and learn traditional Balinese farming practices firsthand. Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach’s diverse community initiatives reflect its dedication to supporting local communities and preserving cultural heritage.
