Perched above the Pacific Ocean with spanning views of Kauai’s emerald mountains, the 18-hole Poipu Bay Golf Course spans 210 acres of coastal terrain. In 2024, the golf course underwent a renovation to update its irrigation system and 28 greenside bunkers. The revitalized bunkers feature an enhanced drainage system that makes for optimal playing conditions. Additionally, the updates preserve the course’s authentic design by restoring the bunkers to their original form, capturing the course’s historical essence.
Designed by world-renowned architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. in 1990, Poipu Bay Golf Course features 85 bunkers and five water hazards. The course hosted several prominent events including the PGA Grand Slam between 1994 and 2006. It has also received numerous awards and accolades, and most recently was included in Golfweek’s 2025 List of Top Resort Courses in the U.S.
