(BIWABIK, Minn.) – Giants Ridge – Minnesota’s premier golf destination and all-seasons recreation area set in the rugged beauty of the Mesabi Iron Range – announces the reopening of its top-rated golf courses for the 2025 season.
Both The Legend and The Quarry will open for play on May 2nd. Tee times are currently being accepted for both courses, and can be reserved by calling 218-865-8030.
A convenient three-hour drive from the Minneapolis – St. Paul metro area, Giants Ridge boasts two of the highest-ranked layouts in the state. Although both The Legend and The Quarry were designed by renowned architect Jeffrey Brauer, each course features its own unique layout and character.
Established in 1997, The Legend is credited with creating the golf scene in the Iron Range of Minnesota and spearheading that region into becoming a world-renowned golf destination. Carved out of the Superior National Forest, the player-friendly layout plays through towering pines and alongside glittering Sabin Lake.
The appropriately named Quarry is built on the site of a former sand quarry and iron ore mine and is often considered the best public golf course in Minnesota. Dramatically raised tees and hazards forged from reclaimed and repurposed mine land set The Quarry apart from other courses and provide dramatic Iron Range vistas.
To commemorate the beginning of the golf season, Giants Ridge re-introduces its popular 36-Hole Golf Special package. Labeled “Minnesota’s Greatest Value in Golf”, the package includes golf with a cart on both of Giants Ridge’s award-winning courses, range balls, and lunch between rounds for $205 on weekdays and $220 on weekends.
Guests can also book individual rounds on both courses with select rates between now and the end of the golf season. Through May 29th and from Sept. 29th to the end of the season, golfers can take advantage of early and late season pricing with rounds starting as low as $96. Prime season pricing runs from May 30 to Sept. 28 with regular rates starting at $130 and twilight rounds available for $96.
“We’re thrilled to launch the 2025 golf season at Giants Ridge and welcome our guests back for another year of exceptional golf in the stunning setting of northern Minnesota,” says John Kendall, Director of Golf. “Our maintenance team has done an outstanding job preparing the courses after the snow melt, bringing them back to the top-tier condition our guests know and love. The entire staff is excited to once again open our doors to golfers from near and far.”
Giants Ridge continues to shine as one of Minnesota’s top golf destinations. The Quarry maintained its top-35 ranking in Golfweek’s annual rankings of the top resort courses in America, while The Legend skyrocketed to 108th. Golfweek also touted The Quarry as well as the top public course in Minnesota, while the Legend came in at No. 5 in the state. The splendid recreation area and its courses have also received accolades from GOLF Magazine, MyGolfSpy and GolfPass.
Beyond its two superb golf courses, Giants Ridge offers numerous crystal-clear lakes, rivers and streams ideal for swimming, boating and fishing. Hiking and biking trails also cut through the towering pines found in the area, and chairlift rides offer breathtaking views of the stunning Iron Range.
Giants Ridge also offers a range of amenities to enhance the visiting experience from several surrounding lodging facilities to multiple on-site dining options including Burnt Onion Kitchen & Brews, Bunkers at The Legend and the Wacootah Grill.
