NADI, FIJI (Aug. 27, 2025) – Following a record-breaking 2024 that saw Fiji welcome over 1 million visitors for the first time, Tourism Fiji is proud to announce that July 2025 marked the highest number of visitor arrivals in a single month in the country’s history, welcoming 99,311 visitors from around the world. This milestone surpasses both July 2024 (+1%) and pre-pandemic levels in 2019 (+3%).
Fiji saw significant growth from key long-haul markets in July, led by the United States (+7% YoY) and Canada (+10% YoY), followed by the United Kingdom (+19% YoY) and Europe (+8% YoY). Australian visitors continued to represent the largest share overall, accounting for 45% of total arrivals.
For the U.S. market specifically, June and July 2025 marked Fiji’s strongest high season on record, with June reaching an all-time monthly high of 12,588 American arrivals, followed closely by 12,226 in July, reinforcing the destination’s growing appeal among U.S. travelers.
Visitor spending in July is estimated at $343 million, highlighting tourism’s significant contribution to Fiji’s economy. The country also welcomed 3,132 cruise passengers during the month. Tourism accounts for approximately 40% of Fiji’s economy, underscoring the industry’s vital role in the broader economic growth of the South Pacific’s emerging hub.
As Fiji welcomes record-breaking visitor numbers, the islands continue to offer the space, authenticity, and intimacy that travelers cherish. Tourism Fiji CEO Brent Hill shared his excitement: “July has been our biggest month ever, and while that’s incredibly exciting and vital for our country, the magic of Fiji is that it never feels crowded. With resorts and activities spread across 333 islands, visitors can still enjoy their own private escape, from secluded island resorts to hiking trails and waterfalls with no one else around.”
“At the same time, there is definitely a buzz in the air. Fiji is absolutely the place to be right now – perfect weather, outstanding resorts, unforgettable experiences, and of course, the warmth of our people. Importantly, Fiji continues to deliver excellent value. With the U.S. dollar and Euro both very favorable against the Fiji dollar, and the Australian and New Zealand dollars going further here as well, travelers are continuing to find options for their budgets. But ultimately, the true value lies in the unique and life-enriching experiences visitors take home,” he added.
From January to July 2025, Fiji has welcomed 543,073 visitors in total, keeping the destination firmly on track for another strong year of tourism growth.
With record-breaking momentum carrying over from 2024 and a historic high season now underway, Fiji is proving itself not just as a top travel destination but as a global tourism success story. As demand continues to surge across key markets and traveler interest deepens, Tourism Fiji remains focused on sustainable, high-yield growth that benefits local communities while delivering unforgettable experiences to every visitor.
