For more than 35 years, Aurora Expeditions has taken travelers beyond the traditional tourist routes and into some of the world’s most remote and wild environments. This spirit of exploration comes to life on its Glaciers & Fjords of Southern Patagonia voyage, which takes travelers deep into the Chilean fjords aboard the newly launched small expedition ship, Douglas Mawson.
The 11-day expedition, departing March 28-April 7, 2027, explores a landscape of snow-capped mountains, ancient icefields, towering cliffs, and forested islets, with opportunities to experience the region up close by Zodiac and on foot. For a limited time, travelers can save up to 25% and receive an Air Credit of up to $3,500 per person when booking by September 30, 2026. A few highlights include:
- Pio XI Glacier: Sail to the largest glacier in South America, one of the few glaciers in the region that continues to advance each year.
- Magellanic penguins: Zodiac around Tucker Islets, home to a colony of more than 4,000 Magellanic penguins, while keeping watch for dolphins and seabirds.
- Glacier Alley: Cruise through the UNESCO-listed Glacier Alley and explore the surrounding Cordillera Darwin Icefield by Zodiac.
- Sub-Antarctic Wilderness: Hike through Patagonia’s rugged landscapes and explore fjords and glaciers by zodiac.
