As Mackinac Island bursts into bloom this June for its beloved Lilac Festival (June 6-15 )—a celebration of fragrant flowers, horse-drawn parades, garden tours, and small-town charm—The Inn at Stonecliffe offers the perfect home base for experiencing it all.
Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, The Inn at Stonecliffe is a historic retreat perched high above the island with sweeping views of the Straits of Mackinac. After a full day of exploring the island’s pastel-hued lilac-lined streets, guests can return to a peaceful sanctuary surrounded by nature.
This is the resort’s second summer season following a $40-million renovation, which brought the most modern amenities to the island while playing tribute to the property’s historic charm. The iconic 18,500-square-foot Mansion sits at the center of the 15-acre property, with 16 King and Queen guestrooms and the Straits Suite, all featuring unique designs with vintage charm combined with modern touches. The 26,000-square-foot Summer House is an ideal spot for small families and groups, with 32 King and Queen guestrooms complete with spacious layouts, a kitchenette, small dining table and lake or garden views. For large groups, three cottages are available, offering three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, a living room and fully equipped kitchen.
Owned by the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation, The Inn at Stonecliffe is one of three Humanitarian Hotels with 100% of net profits being used to support charitable initiatives locally and around the world.
