Mix Caribbean Resort Cocktail Recipes for National Rum Day

With National Rum Day (August 16) quickly approaching, wouldn’t it be great to mix and share the cocktail recipes of your favorite Caribbean resorts with family and friends at home? 1 piece of 10 cm (70g) of ginger peeled and chopped

1 cup of lemon juice (about three to four lemons)

1/3 cup of maple syrup

6 cup of water

2 lemons cut into slices for garnish

White rum to taste

Place the ginger in a food processor or blender. Add fresh lemon juice and process until smooth. Add water and maple syrup. Mix well. Strain out ginger pulp. Serve in glasses filled with ice. Add white rum to taste to properly celebrate National Rum Day with the tropically inspired drink.

Cayo Espanto’s Espanto Wave

1 ounce of Captain Morgan Rum

0.5 ounce of Blue Curacao Liquor

0.3 ounce of Amaretto

0.5 ounce of Triple Sec

1 ounce of Pineapple squash

1 ounce of Lime juice

1 tablespoon of Sugar

Ice cubes

Blend all the ingredients in a blender until smooth and frozen. Sit back, relax and create a taste of your own private island paradise from the comfort of your home.

Frangi’s Island Rum Punch recipe:
Ingredients

  • 1 part fresh squeezed lime juice
  • 2 parts simple syrup
  • ½ part Amaretto Disaronno
  • 1 part guava nectar
  • 2 parts passionfruit juice
  • 3 parts spice rum (Mount Gay)
  • 1 part dark rum (Myers’s)
  • Angostura bitters, to taste (we like a healthy portion)
  • Sprinkle of fresh ground nutmeg for garnish

Instructions

  1. Stir all ingredients except nutmeg
  2. Serve over ice
  3. Sprinkle with fresh ground nutmeg and garnish with a lime wedge

Ingredients:

  • 1 inch fresh ginger
  • 50ml freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
  • 15ml honey
  • 50ml Clarke’s Court dark rum

Method:

  1. Muddle ginger with honey in a cocktail shaker until ginger is fully crushed. Add the rum, grapefruit juice and ice then shake.
  2. Strain and pour over a tumbler of crushed ice.
