Polo Viewing at King Family Vineyards from the Birdwood Mansion Tent
Boar’s Head Resort has curated an exclusive, VIP polo viewing experience at King Family Vineyards during the Federation of International Polo (FIP) Arena World Polo Championship on Oct. 12 and regional matches taking place on Oct. 26. The experience invites guests to enjoy exclusive tented seating and decadent food and wine options as they take in the action. The experience is being offered as part of a curated lodging package, which also includes accommodations at Boar’s Head Resort, and round-trip transportation to the matches.
Barboursville Family Supper at the Hearth Room
On Wednesday, October 22, guests are invited in for an intimate evening of shared plates, storied wines, and old-world hospitality in the Hearth Room, the tavern beneath The Mill Room. This special dinner is a collaboration between Barboursville Vineyards and The Mill Room, with Director and Winemaker Luca Paschina presenting six of his wines, paired with a rustic and refined menu from Chef de Cuisine Nikita Sanders. The meal will feature smoked and simmered, pickled and preserved family-style dishes, with highlights including a Rabbit Terrine, juicy Coq au Vin, and charred, sizzling shishito peppers dipped in a smoky red pepper and walnut spread. For dessert, a sheep’s milk ‘cheesecake’ awaits. This special dinner will include six courses and the option of six wines, with a reception ahead of dinner seating. Reservations can be made through The Mill Room, and dinner is priced at $128 per person, plus $47 per person for the added wine pairing.
Festive Activations with Laura Dowling
Former Chief Floral Designer at The White House, Laura Dowling, will join Boar’s Head Resort for festive activations this season, including wreath-making sessions. Widely known for her lush and lively design approach, her floral designs have been showcased at thousands of official and private events, including state dinners, parties, receptions and large-scale installations. Dowling will host this workshop in The Ballroom for guests on Oct. 26 at 10:30am, with the workshop priced at $165. As part of this fee, guests will gain complimentary access to Laura’s sister program later the same day: Decking the Halls – Designing Christmas, White House Style. During this special lecture, Dowling will share stories of her experiences designing and decorating the White House for Christmas, as well as her insider design secrets.
