BROOKLYN, NY (June 2025) – Breva, the New American brasserie from award-winning Apicii Hospitality, has officially opened its 110-seat oceanfront patio for the summer and introduced new seasonal programming including Sunday Jazz Brunch and Le Plage de Brighton, a lively Summer Friday series complete with a roaming spritz cart and live music. Executive Chef Travis McGinty, whose background includes Michelin-starred Forgione and collaborations with Top Chef winner Harold Dieterle, has also added new summer dishes to a menu that balances brasserie classics with seasonal inspiration.
“Brighton Beach is known for landmark establishments that have been around for generations, so when opening Breva, we wanted to introduce new flavors and a modern culinary experience,” said Chef McGinty. “The menu offers delicious dishes that can be shared family-style for special occasions or enjoyed as a casual beach bite during the summer. We really focused on bringing people together and the celebratory nature of waterfront dining.”
This summer, guests will find appetizers including East and West Coast Oysters (MP) with smoked vodka cocktail sauce, Caviar Tots ($24) with crème fraîche and Lobster Knuckles “Escargot Style” ($26) served in a warm pernod-butter sauce. Entrées range from seafood-inspired dishes like Poached Black Bass ($36) with miso dashi to indulgent Black Angus Steak Frites ($48) with chimichurri and a Double Cheeseburger ($24) with house Breva sauce.
Desserts include a rotating selection of house-made ice cream and sorbet ($4), offering a refreshing finish on hot summer days. The Caramel Popcorn Sundae ($11), layered with sea salt-caramel gelato, house-made caramel, hot fudge and whipped cream, channels boardwalk nostalgia. The dessert menu also features reimagined classics like the NY Cheesecake ($12), topped with tart red currants and roasted pistachios; the Pavlova ($10) with roasted strawberries and lemon curd; Chocolate Caramel Pie ($10) with Chantilly; and Fresh Berries and Sorbet ($9).
The beverage program is anchored by a 75-bottle “Book of Vodka,” in honor of Brighton Beach’s predominantly Eastern-European population. Each bottle is accompanied by house made fruit compote and seltzer chasers, following local tradition. The cocktail list blends timeless flavors with creative execution, including the Hibiscus Margarita ($14); the nod-to-the-neighborhood Brooklyn ($15) with rye, dry vermouth, luxardo, bigallet china china and aromatic bitters; and the Flame of Love ($16), which arrives tableside with flamed orange peel and oloroso sherry. Further inspired by the neighborhood’s Eastern European roots and Russian traditions around vodka, patrons also have the option to order the Martini My Way ($17) which gives guests a fully customizable martini experience.
Located steps from the sand at 3145 Brighton Fourth Street, Breva has launched a Summer Friday happy hour, Le Plage de Brighton, that runs weekly from 3-7 p.m. through Labor Day, offering guests spritz service from a roaming cocktail cart, alongside music and light bites for a beachside start to the weekend.
Sunday Jazz Brunch brings a slower rhythm to the boardwalk, with jazz from local musicians and a menu of coastal-inspired brunch dishes such as Lemon Ricotta Pancakes ($17) with yuzu curd; Skirt Steak and Eggs ($32) with crispy potatoes; a chipotle-sauced Breakfast Sandwich ($21) on brioche; and a Wild Mushroom Omelette ($19). For guests looking to pair dishes with brunch cocktails, the Pick-Me-Up Bloody Mary ($18) features a house-made mix and a Shrimp Mary ($23) version arrives topped with a colossal shrimp. In addition to brunch craft cocktails, sangria, mimosas and bellinis are available for guests to classically toast to brunch.
Just a short walk from Coney Island and easily accessible by subway, in addition to the new patio seating, guests can dine in the 100-seat dining room framed by soaring brick arches, a 20-seat bar and lounge and a subterranean wine vault that doubles as a private dining space for 16 to 20.
The restaurant is open Wednesday through Friday from noon to 10 p.m. for lunch and dinner and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. for brunch, lunch and dinner.
