If your ideal Gulf Coast getaway involves a tee time (or three), Camp Creek Inn and Watersound Inn offer plenty to play. In honor of National Golf Lover’s Day, I wanted to put Watersound Club’s three championship courses on your radar — each offering a distinctly different way to experience golf along Florida’s Emerald Coast. Guests at both Camp Creek Inn and Watersound Inn receive a “member for a stay” experience at Watersound Club, with access to 54 holes across three courses:
- Camp Creek Golf Course: Designed by Tom Fazio and located just outside Camp Creek Inn, the 18-hole course winds through rolling fairways, sand dunes and native vegetation. At the 12th tee, a restored 1958 Chevrolet Viking truck has been transformed into a wood-fired oven serving up surprises like pizza, sliders and soft pretzels with beer cheese.
- The Third: Opened in March 2025 and designed by Davis Love III, the course features expansive greens, strategically placed bunkers and six tee options, giving golfers the flexibility to tailor their round to their own ability and playing style.
- Shark’s Tooth: Tucked along Lake Powell, Florida’s largest coastal dune lake, this Greg Norman-designed course offers a more secluded round, with rolling greens, deep bunkers and sweeping views of pine forest and water. At the turn, the Shark Shack serves up favorites like the Shack Burger and craft cocktails, while the newly renovated clubhouse offers post-round dining and drinks.
For a golf-focused stay, Camp Creek Inn offers 75 guest rooms, many overlooking the course, plus a Golf Performance Center with TrackMan technology, club fitting, video capture and a short game practice area. Guests can also take advantage of the resort’s restaurants, Wellness Center, tennis and pickleball courts and pools.
For a quieter option, Watersound Inn has just 11 apartment-style suites with full kitchens, spacious living areas and private balconies. Guests also have access to Watersound Beach Club and its more than a mile of private beach, two zero-entry pools and dining, along with the “member for a stay” experience at Camp Creek Inn and Watersound Club.
