Newport is having a particularly newsworthy moment this festive season with the debut of A Newport Christmas, Hallmark’s newest holiday film and the first to be set in Rhode Island in nearly 30 years! The movie highlights some of the city’s most iconic locations – from The Breakers and Marble House to The Elms and Bowen’s Wharf – giving travelers a real-life look at the city during the holidays.
On the hospitality side, The Vanderbilt, Auberge Collection is introducing a new experience: A Gilded Indulgence: Holiday Caviar Tasting in partnership with CY Kitchen. Available through January 3, the tasting brings CY Kitchen’s signature caviar, New England accompaniments, and vintage English serveware into the mansion’s Gilded Age setting, complete with a playful caviar-themed tree.
Down on the waterfront, The Reef returns with its whimsical, heated igloos each with their own theme, from Winter Wonderland to Alice in Wonderland. The experience has become one of Newport’s most photographed seasonal offerings and pairs coastal-inspired menus with sweeping harbor views.
Across town, Newport’s dining scene is especially active during the holidays, with Heritage Hospitality’s local favorites like Brick Alley Pub, Red Parrot, La Forge, and more serving as go-to spots for visitors and locals alike. This year, Heritage is also launching a holiday gift card initiative that donates to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center’s Hunger Relief programs while offering bonus dollars to guests, creating an easy way for travelers to give back during their visit.
